The Role of Neuronal Oscillations in Visual Active Sensing

open access: yesFrontiers in Integrative Neuroscience, 2019
Visual perception is most often studied as a “passive” process in which an observer fixates steadily at point in space so that stimuli can be delivered to the system with spatial precision.

Supernova Neutrino Oscillations

open access: yes, 2005
Observing a high-statistics neutrino signal from a galactic supernova (SN) would allow one to test the standard delayed explosion scenario and may allow one to distinguish between the normal and inverted neutrino mass ordering due to the effects of ...

Stratum Corneum‐Inspired Zwitterionic Hydrogels with Intrinsic Water Retention and Anti‐Freezing Properties for Intelligent Flexible Sensors

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A novel stratum corneum‐inspired zwitterionic hydrogel is developed for intelligent, flexible sensors, featuring intrinsic water retention and anti‐freezing properties. The quasi‐gel, composed of hygroscopic polymers and bound water, maintains its softness across a wide range of humidity.

Increased phosphorylation of Cx36 gap junctions in the AII amacrine cells of RD retina

open access: yesFrontiers in Cellular Neuroscience, 2015
Retinal degeneration (RD) encompasses a family of diseases that lead to photoreceptor death and visual impairment. Visual decline due to photoreceptor cell loss is further compromised by emerging spontaneous hyperactivity in inner retinal cells.

All‐Cellulose‐Based Photonic Glitters

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Uniform, disc‐shaped photonic CNC glitters with adjustable structural colors and diameters are fabricated on hydrophilic ethyl cellulose films using electrospray deposition. By employing patterned ethyl cellulose films with pre‐designed hydrophilic regions, photonic patterns can be created with these all‐cellulose‐based glitters, demonstrating their ...

Optogenetic Stimulation of the Basolateral Amygdala Increased Theta-Modulated Gamma Oscillations in the Hippocampus

open access: yesFrontiers in Behavioral Neuroscience, 2019
The amygdala can modulate declarative memory. For example, previous research in rats and humans showed that brief electrical stimulation to the basolateral complex of the amygdala (BLA) prioritized specific objects to be consolidated into long term ...

5,11‐Di(thiophen‐2‐yl)Tetracene: A Novel Tetracene Derivative for Efficient Singlet Fission with Enhanced Physical and Chemical Stability in Thin Films

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
In this work, a new tetracene derivative, 5,11‐di(thiophen‐2‐yl)tetracene (2T‐Tc) is introduced, exhibiting enhanced physical and chemical stability, and retaining favorable singlet fission kinetics with near unity triplet pair yield in thin films.
