Quantum spin van der Pol oscillator -- a spin-based limit-cycle oscillator exhibiting quantum synchronization [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
We introduce a quantum spin van der Pol (vdP) oscillator as a prototypical model of quantum spin-based limit-cycle oscillators, which coincides with the quantum optical vdP oscillator in the high-spin limit. The system is described as a noisy limit-cycle oscillator in the semiclassical regime at large spin numbers, exhibiting frequency entrainment to a

Print‐and‐Plate Architected Electrodes for Electrochemical Transformations Under Flow

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Typical flow cell electrodes are composed of stochastic porous carbon, limiting understanding of electrode structure‐performance relationships. This work describes an approach, termed “print‐and‐plate,” to prepare porous electrodes by direct ink writing followed by conformal metal coating.

Shear‐Induced Nematic Alignment in Polysulfone Melts

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Shear‐induced alignment is investigated by means of rheology and birefringence on an amorphous linear polysulfone melt. The absence of crystallization makes PSU particularly enabling to investigate temperature effects on the shear‐alignment of linear polymers, unveiling the role of chain relaxation times and possible enthalpic contributions.

Relaxation and pumping of quantum oscillator nonresonantly coupled with the other oscillator [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2019
The paper shows mechanisms of both the pumping and energy decay of an "isolated" oscillator. The oscillator is only non-resonantly coupled with the adjacent oscillator which resonantly interacts with the thermal bath environment. Under these conditions the "isolated" oscillator begins interacting with the thermal bath environment of the adjacent ...

Electrically Induced Negative Differential Resistance States Mediated by Oxygen Octahedra Coupling in Manganites for Neuronal Dynamics

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The negative differential resistance is exploited, using a La0.67Sr0.33MnO3 thin film network to demonstrate various neuronal functionalities of the human brain, such as leaky‐integrate‐fire and oscillatory patterns. Transmission electron microscope studies show local modification in oxygen octahedra in the network leads to co‐existing phases ...

Off‐Stoichiometry Engineering of the Electrical and Optical Properties of SrNbO3 Using Oxide Molecular Beam Epitaxy

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The plasma edge of transparent conducting oxide SrNbO3 shifts from ∼2 eV in the visible range to 1.37 eV in the near‐infrared region by off‐stoichiometry using the vacancy sites as quasi‐substitutional virtual elements. This work advances the stoichiometry engineering of perovskite oxides using oxide molecular beam epitaxy, allowing synthesis beyond ...

Oscillator Algebra of Chiral Oscillator

open access: yes, 2023
For the chiral oscillator described by a second order and degenerate Lagrangian with special Euclidean group of symmetries, we show, by cotangent bundle Hamiltonian reduction, that reduced equations are Lie-Poisson on dual of oscillator algebra, the central extension of special Euclidean algebra in two dimensions.
