EFFECT OF FLOW IRREGULARITY ON OSCILLATORY BOUNDARY LAYER FLOW [PDF]
The paper reports on new oscillatory flow tunnel experiments in which detailed measurements have been made of boundary layer velocities for full-scale regular and irregular oscillatory flows over sand-rough and gravel-rough fixed beds. The irregular flows were generated by amplitude modulation of the corresponding regular flows, to give same free ...

MOFs and COFs in Electronics: Bridging the Gap between Intrinsic Properties and Measured Performance
Metal‐organic frameworks (MOFs) and covalent organic frameworks (COFs) hold promise for advanced electronics. However, discrepancies in reported electrical conductivities highlight the importance of measurement methodologies. This review explores intrinsic charge transport mechanisms and extrinsic factors influencing performance, and critically ...

Instabilities in the oscillatory flow of a complex fluid
The dynamics of a fluid in a vertical tube, subjected to an oscillatory pressure gradient, is studied experimentally for both a Newtonian and a viscoelastic shear-thinning fluid. Particle image velocimetry is used to determine the two-dimensional velocity fields in the vertical plane of the tube axis, in a range of driving amplitudes from 0.8 to 2.5 mm

Hot‐Film and Calorimetric Methods With Transient Heating for Measurement of High Biofluid Flow Rate
Accurate measurement of biofluid flow rate is vital for clinical diagnostics. We propose a transient heating strategy using short thermal pulses and peak temperature tracking to enhance the flow sensitivity of the hot‐Film and calorimetric methods. Simulations show how optimal heating time maximizes sensitivity across flow rates.
