Application of an Oscillatory Plug Flow Reactor to Enable Scalable and Fast Reactions in Water Using a Biomass-Based Polymeric Additive.

open access: yesChemSusChem, 2023
The utilization of water as a sustainable reaction medium has important advantages over traditional organic solvents. Hydroxypropyl methylcellulose has emerged as a biomass-based polymeric additive that enables organic reactions in water through ...

Advanced reactor engineering with 3D printing for the continuous-flow synthesis of silver nanoparticles [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
The implementation of advanced reactor engineering concepts employing additive manufacturing is demonstrated. The design and manufacturing of miniaturised continuous flow oscillatory baffled reactors (mCOBR) employing low cost stereolithography based 3D ...

Photochemical Deracemization of a Medicinally‐Relevant Benzopyran using an Oscillatory Flow Reactor

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, 2022
AbstractDynamic deracemization processes, such as crystallization‐induced diastereomer transformations (CIDTs), offer the opportunity to combine racemization and resolution processes, to provide high yields of enantiomerically pure compounds. To date, few of these processes have incorporated photochemical racemization.

Thermal radiation, chemical reaction, Hall and ion slip effects on MHD oscillatory rotating flow of micro-polar liquid

open access: yesAlexandria Engineering Journal, 2021
The thermal radiation, chemical reaction, Hall and ion slip impacts on double-diffusive unsteady MHD natural convective rotating flow of micro-polar fluid past a semi-infinite vertical moving porous plate under the influence of uniform transverse ...

Oscillatory thermal instability and the Bhopal disaster [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
A stability analysis is presented of the hydrolysis of methyl isocyanate (MIC) using a homogeneous flow reactor paradigm. The results simulate the thermal runaway that occurred inside the storage tank of MIC at the Bhopal Union Carbide plant in December ...

Continuous flow synthesis of zeolite FAU in an oscillatory baffled reactor [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Advanced Manufacturing and Processing, 2020
AbstractIn this work, we report, for the first time, the continuous flow synthesis of zeolite NaX successfully accomplished in a pilot‐scale (up to 100 L/h) continuous oscillatory baffled reactor (COBR). The continuous synthesis was achieved by combining the seed‐assisted method, in‐line mixing of reactants at high temperature and COBR.

Multiple solutions and periodic oscillations in nonlinear diffusion processes [PDF]

open access: yes, 1973
We study the oscillatory stationary states in the temperature and concentration fields occurring in tubular chemical reactors. Singular perturbation and multitime scale procedures are combined formally to clearly and simply reveal the mechanism ...

The effect of particle size on flow in a continuous oscillatory baffled reactor using CFD

open access: yesCanadian Journal of Chemical Engineering, 2021
Experimental and numerical characterizations of flow in continuous oscillatory baffled reactors (COBR) have mainly been based on single phase in past decades.

Digital predictions of complex cylinder packed columns [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
A digital computational approach has been developed to simulate realistic structures of packed beds. The underlying principle of the method is digitisation of the particles and packing space, enabling the generation of realistic structures.
