An Epigenetic Fate Converter Based on Nuclei‐Targeting Lipid Nanoparticles Drives Neuronal Programming of Stem Cells for Spinal Cord Repair

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Schematic illustration of LNP‐MPG nuclei‐targeting delivery of HMW‐FGF2 promoting histone acetylation to regulate the fate of DPSCs and treat spinal cord injury. LNPs components include pHMW‐FGF2 plasmid, DSPC, Dlin‐MC3‐DMA, cholesterol, and PEG2000, and are modified with MPG to form HMW‐FGF2@LNP‐MPG (HLM). HLM nuclei‐targets DPSCs to deliver HMW‐FGF2,

Acetoacetates Derived From Vegetable Oils: A Platform for Tailor‐Made Vinylogous Urethane Foams

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A renewable vegetable oil is converted into acetoacetate‐functionalized precursors for the preparation of catalyst‐free vinylogous urethane foams. Room‐temperature foaming with n‐pentane generates lightweight cellular materials, while the choice of amine enables control over foam structure and mechanical properties.

What happens in between? Human oscillatory brain activity related to crossmodal spatial cueing. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Previous studies investigated the effects of crossmodal spatial attention by comparing the responses to validly versus invalidly cued target stimuli. Dynamics of cortical rhythms in the time interval between cue and target might contribute to cue effects

Observation of oscillations and near-barrier suppression in proton capture by 20O

open access: yesPhysics Letters B
The existence and character of low-angular momentum quasi-bound states in 21F was probed using a (p,n) reaction. Using an active target detector, the capture excitation function for 20O + 1H was measured for the first time.

Architecture‐Driven Functional Coupling in Vertically Aligned Nanocomposites

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Vertically aligned nanocomposites define a growth‐engineered architecture in which vertical interfaces, strain fields, defect pathways, and phase connectivity are created simultaneously. This review shows how these architectural features couple ferroic, optical, ionic, electrochemical, and device responses, establishing design rules and open challenges

An enhanced LPV-model based identification approach of oscillatory failure cases [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
The reliable early detection of oscillatory failure cases (OFC) for modern fly-by-wire controlled civil aircraft is an important aspect in optimizing the structural design objectives for reducing the environmental footprint of the aircraft. We propose a

Oscillatory pattern formation in a neural dynamical system governed by a mutual Hamiltonian and gradient vector field structure

open access: yesCondensed Matter Physics, 2004
We analyze dynamical systems of general form possessing gradient (symmetric) and Hamiltonian (antisymmetric) flow parts. The relevance of such systems to self-organizing processes is discussed.

A Magneto‐Mechanically Activated Nerve Guidance Conduit Promotes Peripheral Nerve Regeneration via TIMP1‐Mediated Membrane Tension Transfer

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study presents a magneto‐mechanical strategy that incorporates FP@MSCs into an aligned PCL/GelMA nerve guidance conduit. Magnetic stimulation increases membrane tension in FP@MSCs, triggering cytoskeletal remodeling, Schwann cell‐like differentiation, and TIMP1 secretion. TIMP1 activates ITGB1/CD63–FAK signaling in NE‐4C cells, increasing membrane

Accelerated Discovery of Topological Spin Phase Diagrams in CrSBr Magnets Via High‐Throughput Optimization

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Here, we develop a high‐throughput algorithm that accelerates the elucidation of phase diagrams of topological spin textures using limited computational resources at high numerical accuracy. Applying this framework to the van der Waals magnet CrSBr, we unveiled a hierarchy of previously unknown topological textures (domain‐wall bimerons, bimeron chains,

Decomposing Thermodynamic Dissipation of Linear Langevin Systems via Oscillatory Modes and Its Application to Neural Dynamics

open access: yesPhysical Review X
Recent developments in stochastic thermodynamics have elucidated various relations between the entropy production rate (thermodynamic dissipation) and the physical limits of information processing in nonequilibrium dynamical systems.
