OSIRIDE is the Italian Research Council's heterogeneous OSI-compatible network. OSI layers 1-5 are now operational on the computers of several manufacturers, and implementation of the OSI file transfer mechanism, FTAM, is underway. The OSIRIDE project team is now analyzing possible further enhancement of the network services.
