A simple transformation for converting CW-OSL curves to LM-OSL curves

open access: yesRadiation Measurements, 2000
Abstract A simple mathematical transformation is introduced to convert from OSL decay curves obtained in the conventional way to those obtained using a linear modulation technique based on a linear increase of the stimulation light intensity during OSL measurement. The validity of the transformation was tested by the IR-stimulated luminescence curves

Thermally assisted OSL (TA-OSL) from various luminescence phosphors; an overview

Radiation Measurements, 2016
Abstract The current status of the results on the thermally assisted optically stimulated luminescence (TA-OSL) signal performed on various naturally occurring as well as artificial luminescent phosphors is described. TA-OSL of anion deficient alumina doped with carbon and quartz has been reported to be effectively used towards dosimetry purposes ...

OSL-thermochronometry using bedrock quartz: A note of caution

open access: yesQuaternary Geochronology, 2015
Optically stimulated luminescence (OSL) thermochronometry is an emerging application, whose capability to record sub-Million-year thermal histories is of increasing interest to a growing number of subdisciplines of Quaternary research.

How to visualize quartz OSL signal components

open access: yesRadiation Measurements, 2012
The optically stimulated luminescence (OSL) signal of natural quartz measured under constant stimulation power (CW-OSL) is a featureless decay curve where underlying components cannot be identified easily.

OSL efficiency for BeO OSL dosimeters

Radiation Measurements, 2014
Abstract In the course of this work, the experimental energy dependence of the OSL material beryllium oxide was determined for different radiation qualities. With the help of the radiation transport program AMOS the experimental setup was simulated. The calculated energy response differs from the experimental energy response.

Slow OSL component in quartz separated by TM-OSL method

Radiation Measurements, 2020
Abstract The thermal stability of the slow component measured by the thermally modulated optically stimulated luminescence (TM-OSL) method was investigated for quartz from geological sediments. The TM-OSL stimulation was carried out with the stimulation wavelength of 470 nm and the heating rate of 2 Ks−1 after the effective bleaching of the faster ...

Single-grain TT-OSL bleaching characteristics: Insights from modern analogues and OSL dating comparisons

open access: yesQuaternary Geochronology, 2019
Previous assessments of thermally transferred optically stimulated luminescence (TT-OSL) signal resetting in natural sedimentary settings have been based on relatively limited numbers of observations, and have been conducted primarily at the multi-grain ...

LiMgPO4:Tb,B OSL phosphor – CW and LM OSL studies

Nuclear Instruments and Methods in Physics Research Section B: Beam Interactions with Materials and Atoms, 2011
Abstract In the adjoining paper, the authors have proposed LiMgPO4:Tb,B (LMP) OSL phosphor as a potential alternative to α-Al2O3:C for dosimetry applications. This calls for developing an understanding on TL and OSL aspects of this highly sensitive LMP phosphor.

Intercomparison study of sensitivities from commercial OSL readers and a newly developed OSL reader

Radiation Protection Dosimetry, 2023
Abstract In this study, we compared the sensitivities of a newly designed OSL system with two commercial systems, performing OSL readouts of Al2O3:C irradiated with doses ranging from mGy to a few Gy. It is our first prototype, and we used a cluster of three blue LEDs (5 W each and approximately wavelength 450 nm) for the optical ...
