Use of Ionic Liquids for the Synthesis of Iron, Ruthenium, and Osmium Nanoparticles from Their Metal Carbonyl Precursors

Organometallics, 2008
Stable iron, ruthenium, and osmium nanoparticles are obtained reproducibly by thermal or photolytic decomposition under an argon atmosphere from Fe2(CO)9, Ru3(CO)12, and Os3(CO)12, dissolved in the...

Narrowly dispersed silica supported osmium nanoparticles prepared by an organometallic approach: H2 and CO adsorption stoichiometry and hydrogenolysis catalytic activity

Dalton Transactions, 2013
Osmium(cyclooctadiene)(cyclooctatetraene) is used as a molecular precursor to prepare small and narrowly distributed silica supported nanoparticles upon a mild treatment under H2 (1.1 ± 0.3 nm, ca. 90 atoms). Static volumetric chemisorption combined with HAADF-STEM shows that Os nanoparticles adsorb 1.7 ± 0.1 H and 1.4 ± 0.1 CO per surface atom.

Enantioselective Dihydroxylation of Alkenes Catalyzed by 1,4‐Bis(9‐O‐dihydroquinidinyl)phthalazine‐Modified Binaphthyl–Osmium Nanoparticles

ChemCatChem, 2017
AbstractA series of unprecedented binaphthyl–osmium nanoparticles (OsNPs) with chiral modifiers were applied in the heterogeneous asymmetric dihydroxylation of alkenes. A remarkable size effect of the OsNPs, depending on the density of the covalent organic shells, on the reactivity and enantioselectivity of the dihydroxylation reaction was revealed ...

DNA/nickel oxide nanoparticles/osmium(III)-complex modified electrode toward selective oxidation of l-cysteine and simultaneous detection of l-cysteine and homocysteine

Bioelectrochemistry, 2012
The modification of glassy carbon (GC) electrode with electrodeposited nickel oxide nanoparticles (NiOxNPs) and deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) is utilized as a new efficient platform for entrapment of osmium (III) complex. Surface morphology and electrochemical properties of the prepared nanocomposite modified electrode (GC/DNA/NiOxNPs/Os(III)-complex ...

Tris-bipyridine based dinuclear ruthenium(ii)–osmium(iii) complex dyads grafted onto TiO2 nanoparticles for mimicking the artificial photosynthetic Z-scheme

Physical Chemistry Chemical Physics, 2017
A Ru(ii)–Os(iii) dyad was grafted on TiO2 to achieve Z-scheme charge separation, but photoinduced electron transfer was shown to be a minor reaction pathway in this system.
