From Redox Imbalance to Tissue Injury: Insights Into Antidepressant Drug Amitriptyline Effects on Salivary Glands

open access: yesCell Biochemistry and Function, Volume 44, Issue 3, March 2026.
ABSTRACT This study aimed to investigate the effects of amitriptyline administration on the salivary glands and saliva of rats. Twenty‐eight male Wistar rats (60 days old) were divided into two groups (n = 14 per group): control and amitriptyline‐treated (10 mg/kg/day for 30 days).

Analysis of Reactive Oxygen Species–Induced Cellular Damage in Cervical Cancer

open access: yesCurrent Protocols, Volume 6, Issue 3, March 2026.
Abstract Reactive oxygen species (ROS) are highly reactive oxygen‐based molecules comprising hydrogen peroxide, hydroxyl radicals, superoxide anion, and singlet oxygen. These species are produced intracellularly and play an important role in cellular signaling and metabolism. Their high reactivity damages intracellular macromolecules such as lipids and

Evaluation of Urine Exosome Lecithin Cholesterol Acyltransferase as a Biomarker for Diabetes Diagnosis and Dyslipidemia

open access: yesDiabetes/Metabolism Research and Reviews, Volume 42, Issue 3, March 2026.
Integrated proteomic and model studies reveal lipid metabolism dysregulation in diabetes, detectable even in prediabetes. LCAT, a key regulator, shows compensatory upregulation during progression. The characteristic dynamics of urine exosome LCAT provide a basis for its use as a non‐invasive biomarker for early diabetic detection and disease monitoring.
