Gold bipyramids can act as efficient plasmonic nanoheaters, but they often reshape during laser heating. This study shows that oxygen nanobubbles drive oxidative etching and that surface ligands control stability. CTAB‐ and citrate‐coated particles blunt and lose optical performance, whereas polystyrene sulfonate preserves shape and heating by ...

Osmotic stress, osmotic myelinolysis, and oligodendrocyte topography.
Hyponatremia and rapid correction of hyponatremia have often been proposed as pathogenetic mechanisms in the development of central pontine myelinolysis. We report the case of a 36-year-old man who died with acute hemorrhagic pancreatitis with the autopsy findings of central pontine and extrapontine myelinolysis.

Biocompatible but Antibacterial Mechanism of Graphene Oxide for Sustainable Antibiotics
Graphene oxide (GO) exhibits selective antibacterial activity through specific interactions between its oxygen functional groups and bacterial membrane phospholipid POPG, causing membrane destabilization while maintaining biocompatibility. Model membrane studies and infected wound models in mice and pigs demonstrate effective bacterial suppression and ...

Neural cell–derived small extracellular vesicles (sEVs) are emerging as pivotal mediators in neurodegenerative diseases, exerting both pathogenic and therapeutic functions. This review synthesizes current evidence on how sEVs from distinct neural cell types regulate neurodegeneration, neuroprotection, biomarker discovery, and targeted drug delivery ...

Aptamer‐Based Delivery Systems for VEGF and NGF Modulation in Ocular Therapies
Aptamer‐based delivery systems targeting NGF and VEGF hold significant potential for precise and sustained treatment of complex diseases affecting both the anterior and posterior segments of the eye. This review critically summarizes current strategies for NGF and VEGF delivery as well as VEGF sequestration, providing a clinical perspective on how ...

Stomatal abundance and distribution in Prosopis strombulifera plants growing under different Iso-Osmotic salt [PDF]
Changes in several environmental parameters are thought to affect stomatal development. Under salt stress, plants can regulate their transpiration flux through a better control of the stomatal opening (as a short-term response) and through modifications ...

Fully Wireless and Flexible Valves for Multiplexed and Prolonged Intravesical Liquid Release
A fundamental mechanism for the simultaneous control of multiple magnetic valves is reported in a miniature soft robotic patch for intravesical drug delivery, enabling fully wireless and programmable liquid release. Integrated with a bioadhesive interface and induction‐coupling‐based liquid volume sensing, the soft robotic patch is promising to enable ...
