Slow Expectation–Maximization Convergence in Low‐Noise Dynamic Factor Models
ABSTRACT This paper addresses the slow convergence of the expectation–maximization (EM) algorithm in the estimation of low‐noise dynamic factor models, commonly used in macroeconomic nowcasting and forecasting. We show analytically and in Monte Carlo simulations how the EM algorithm stagnates in a low‐noise environment, leading to inaccurate estimates ...

Corrosion Behavior of Additively Manufactured Steels: A Comprehensive Review
This review explores the corrosion behavior of various steel types, including austenitic, martensitic, duplex, low‐alloy, and maraging steels, produced via additive manufacturing (AM). It discusses how AM impacts material properties, such as grain structure and the formation of defects like porosity, and highlights the importance of optimizing process ...

Five‐day ski camp could enhance postural stability in young adults: A quasi‐experimental study
Abstract This study investigated whether a 5‐day ski camp could improve postural stability in young adults. It was hypothesized that skiing would reduce postural sway. In this quasi‐experimental design, 43 undergraduate students who participated in a 5‐day ski camp (approximately 20 h of skiing) were compared to 35 peers who did not attend.

Summary Dioxins (PCDD/F) and dioxin‐like polychlorinated biphenyls (DL‐PCB) are harmful compounds that remain in the environment and accumulate in the food chain. Polychlorinated dibenzo‐p‐dioxins (PCDDs) and polychlorinated dibenzofurans (PCDFs) are mainly by‐products of industrial processes, but can also be the result of natural processes such as ...
