An Energy Saving Routing Algorithm for a Green OSPF Protocol

2010 INFOCOM IEEE Conference on Computer Communications Workshops, 2010
In this paper we analyze the challenging problem of energy saving in IP networks. A novel network-level strategy based on a modification of current link-state routing protocols, such as OSPF, is proposed; according to this strategy, IP routers are able to power off some network links during low traffic periods.

OSPF routing protocol performance in Software Defined Networks

2017 Fourth International Conference on Software Defined Systems (SDS), 2017
Software Defined networks (SDNs) paradigm tries to improve the network performance, facilitating the network management and the scalability basing on open-source software and adding a new entity called controller that manages the entire network. One of the goals of the controller is taking decisions in regards to routing instead of distributing it ...

SDL Design of OSPF Protocol for the Wireless Private Network

2005
This paper presents the design of the open shortest path first (OSPF) protocol for the wireless private network using the specification and description language (SDL). Simulations are run in many scenarios to show that our design is excellent in the aspects of both function and performance.

A Multipath Routing Algorithm Based on OSPF Routing Protocol

2012 Eighth International Conference on Semantics, Knowledge and Grids, 2012
Currently, the Internet has become an significant part of the global communication infrastructure. With more and more new services emerging, the current IP network may not satisfy the user demands in the future. At present, most routing scheme typically routes all the traffic over one discovered single path, which are inherently slow in responding to ...

Performance enhancement of OSPF protocol in the private network

SPIE Proceedings, 2005
The private network serves as an information exchange platform to support the integrated services via microwave channels and accordingly selects the open shortest path first (OSPF) as the IP routing protocol. But the existing OSPF can't fit the private network very well for its special characteristics.

OSPF-AN: An Intra Domain Routing Protocol for Ambient Networks

2007
This short paper presents OSPF-AN protocol, an extension for OSPF protocol aiming for working in Ambient Networks. OSPF-AN adds services information in its database and messages, and as the original OSPF, will be applied in structured networks. This protocol could be applied together with other routing protocols in a scenario of dynamic networks. OMNet+

Route Guidance System Based on OSPF Protocol

Journal of Highway and Transportation Research and Development (English Edition), 2006
Route Guidance System (RGS) is a representative part of Intelligent Transportation System (ITS). The objective of this paper is to propose a framework of RGS based on Open Shortest Path First (OSPF) protocol, a widely used Internet routing protocol nowadays. RGS based on OSPF is composed of two parts: traffic network and guidance-data network. Guidance-

OSPF Traffic Routing Protocol in Hybrid Network

2007 IFIP International Conference on Network and Parallel Computing Workshops (NPC 2007), 2007
In financial busines, the reliability of any company is important factor to success, in our IT world all data is sent electronically to central processing by network connections. Thus, it should be more than one line connection from branches to head office; many companies prefer to rent a standby network connection from another internet service ...

Analysis of MPLS Signaling Protocols and Traffic Dissemination in OSPF and MPLS

First Asia International Conference on Modelling & Simulation (AMS'07), 2007
This paper analyzes MPLS signaling protocols for traffic engineering, shows the capability of providing traffic engineering in MPLS compared to the conventional routing protocol, and explains the MPLS LSR operations based on the basic LSR functionality of classification, queue, and scheduling.
