The carbonate sedimentation in Ossa-Morena Zone during the Palaeozoic is formed, at least, during two main episodes. However, some chronological questions remain open, due to lack of biostratigraphic data in some carbonates.

Superimposed thermal histories in the southern limit of the Ossa Morena Zone – Portugal
Geological Magazine, 2016AbstractThe Mississippian volcano-sedimentary complex in the Toca da Moura – Cabrela areas represents remnants of intra-volcanic marine sedimentary basins, formed during the collision between the Ossa Morena Zone with the South Portuguese Zone. These rock units are unconformably overlain by the Pennsylvanian intramontane coal-bearing Santa Susana Basin.

Geodynamic evolution of a Cadomian arc region: the northern Ossa-Morena zone, Iberian massif
Tectonophysics, 2002Abstract Ductile deformation and polyphase metamorphism in the Ossa-Morena zone of the Iberian massif are related to two major tectonothermal episodes of Cadomian (late Neoproterozoic to early Cambrian) and Variscan age (middle to late Paleozoic).

HP–LT Variscan metamorphism in the Cubito-Moura schists (Ossa-Morena Zone, southern Iberia)
Multi-equilibrium thermobarometry shows that low-grade metapelites (Cubito-Moura schists) from the Ossa–Morena Zone underwent HP–LT metamorphism from 340–370 °C at 1.0–0.9 GPa to 400–450 °C at 0.8–0.7 GPa. These HP–LT equilibriums were reached by parageneses including white K mica, chlorite and chloritoid, which define the earliest

Comprehensive petrophysics of rocks from the Monesterio Antiform (Ossa Morena Zone, SW Spain)
Journal of Applied Geophysics, 2006Abstract The aim of this paper is to analyse the variation of petrophysical properties measured in field and laboratory from surface rocks of the Monesterio Antiform and their relationship with the available geophysical data. It is shown how this variation explains some conspicuous anomalies recorded in recent ground gravity, and airborne magnetic ...
