Abstract By employing the conditional nonlinear optimal perturbation approach within a two‐layer quasigeostrophic (QG) model, we investigate the sensitive areas for targeted observations of mesoscale eddies relevant to sea surface height anomaly (SSHA) forecasting and reveal their pronounced latitude dependence.

Carbon monitoring system flux estimation and attribution: impact of ACOS-GOSAT XCO2 sampling on the inference of terrestrial biospheric sources and sinks [PDF]
Using an Observing System Simulation Experiment (OSSE), we investigate the impact of JAXA Greenhouse gases Observing SATellite ‘IBUKI’ (GOSAT) sampling on the estimation of terrestrial biospheric flux with the NASA Carbon Monitoring System Flux (CMS-Flux)

Evaluation of a Decade of Methane Observations From a Tower Network in Indianapolis, Indiana
Abstract Methane (CH4) is a critical near‐term climate mitigation target, yet urban sources remain poorly constrained. Indianapolis hosts one of the world's longest and densest urban CH4 data sets, with continuous measurements from a tall‐tower network spanning more than a decade.

No one has independently reproduced OpenAI's published scores for gpt-oss-20b with tools, because the original paper discloses neither the tools nor the agent harness. We reverse-engineered the model's in-distribution tools: when prompted without tool definitions, gpt-oss still calls tools from its training distribution with high statistical confidence

ALERA‐V Version 1.0: An Objective Analysis Dataset of the Venus Atmosphere
Using observations from the Venus orbiter Akatsuki, we present the first objective analysis dataset of the Venus atmosphere. ALERA‐V, generated with the ALEDAS‐V system using the LETKF, is expected to support studies of atmospheric dynamics and the planning of future satellite missions.

This study provides the first description of the early development of Hoplias intermedius (Characiformes: Erythrinidae), from the embryonic to the juvenile stage. The morphological, meristic, and morphometric characterization contributes to understanding the ontogeny and developmental transitions of Neotropical fishes, supporting taxonomy, conservation,

A Flow‐Dependent Targeted Observation Method for Ensemble Kalman Filter Assimilation Systems
In this study, we developed a flow‐dependent sequential assimilation‐based targeted observation method by minimizing the analysis error variance under the framework of the ensemble Kalman filter (EnKF).
