Morphological and morphometrical aspects of the auditory ossicles in goat (Capra hircus)
Anatomia, Histologia, Embryologia. Journal of Veterinary Medicine Series C, 2020The present paper deals with a detailed description of the auditory ossicles in Capra hircus. The paper focuses on the morphological and morphometrical description of the ossicular assembly, formed by malleus, incus and stapes.

Semibiologic Middle Ear Prostheses: Ossicle Cup and Ossicle Columella
Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery, 1982As a natural step in ossicular reconstruction technique, two semibiologic prostheses are introduced. The prosthesis designed for incus replacement is called the “ossicle cup.” A hole is drilled in the body of an incus or head of the malleus, and the synthetic shaft of the ossicle cup is placed into the hole.

Os Conundrum: Identifying Symptomatic Sesamoids and Accessory Ossicles of the Foot.
AJR. American journal of roentgenology, 2019OBJECTIVE Sesamoids and accessory ossicles are frequently encountered normal osseous structures in the foot that may be an uncommon cause of pain. Familiarity with their imaging findings allows the radiologist to provide reassurance in normal cases and ...

Eight hundred computed tomographic (CT) scans of the chest were reviewed, and 12 cases of episternal ossicles were found. Eight persons had paired ossicles, and four had unilateral ossicles. The overall frequency in the study population was 1.5% (men, 1.4%; women, 1.7%).

Morphological and morphometrical study of the auditory ossicles in chinchilla
Anatomia, Histologia, Embryologia. Journal of Veterinary Medicine Series C, 2019This study is meant to illustrate and describe the features of the auditory ossicles of the chinchilla (Chinchilla lanigera), one of the species used more and more frequently in otology and ear surgery as animal model.

Meniscal ossicles are rare and may cause diagnostic difficulty on plain radiograph at presentation. Magnetic resonance imaging is useful in detecting meniscal ossicles because their characteristic appearance on MRI can differentiate them from other disease.

Vitality of Autotransplanted Ossicles
Acta Oto-Laryngologica, 1960Renewed interest in the surgical reconstruction of the middle ear mechanism has tempted the authors to design a new surgical method to produce optimal hearing improvement in subjects with interruption of the ossicular chain. The purpose of the method is to restore the connection between the tympanic membrane and the oval window by using autogenous ...

Two patients with an ossicle of the meniscus are described. Radiologic differentiation from osteochondral loose body or chondrocalcinosis can be made by its ossified appearance and its location within the meniscus. Correct diagnosis is important so that unnecessary surgery is avoided and a protracted search for a free fragment is not carried out.

Unusual Bilateral Sacrococcygeal Ossicles
Radiology, 1957Two well defined bones in the region usually occupied by the lateral sacrococcygeal ligaments or their ossified remnants may well be unique both as radiographic findings and as anatomic entities. This rare condition (Fig. 1) was discovered subsequent to a radiologic examination requested because of obvious abnormalities. The patient was a white man, 38
