Sustained HIF‐1α accumulation is not a compensatory shield, but a potent pathogenic driver of osteoarthritis. Continuous HIF‐1α signaling physically eradicates the avascular cartilage niche and primes the synovium for inflammation, establishing HIF‐1α as a critical target for disease‐modifying therapies.

Permanent tracheostomy meets 3D‐printing: Surgical technique and innovation
Summary This clinical commentary serves to accompany the recent case report from Debald et al. (2025) detailing the use of a removable, custom, 3D‐printed implant to manage a dynamically collapsing, permanent tracheal stoma. This creative use of an increasingly common technology provided a cost‐effective manner to successfully manage the complications ...

[Osteochondral lesions of the talus in adolescents].
Osteochondral lesions of the talus range from those confined to the hyaline cartilage covering the articular surface to those involving the subchondral bone. The lesion may not be apparent on the surface of the cartilage or it may be confined to the subchondral bone without cartilage involvement.

Abstract Background Radiographic protocols for the metacarpo‐/tarsophalangeal joint during pre‐purchase examinations (PPE) vary internationally, but their impact on pathology detection remains unclear. Optimising imaging protocols is essential to balance diagnostic accuracy with workflow efficiency and radiation exposure.
