LncRNA SNHG14 Delivered by Bone Marrow Mesenchymal Stem Cells‐Secreted Exosomes Regulates Osteogenesis and Adipogenesis in Osteoporosis by Mediating the miR‐27a‐3p/LMNB1 Axis

open access: yesThe Kaohsiung Journal of Medical Sciences, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The purpose of this study was to investigate the role of LncRNA SNHG14 delivered by bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells‐secreted exosomes (BMSC‐Exos) in osteoporosis (OP). BMSCs and BMSCs‐Exos were isolated and identified. BMSCs were transfected, from which BMSCs‐Exos were collected. The treated BMSCs‐Exos were co‐cultured with BMSCs.

GCKR Polymorphisms Increase the Risks of Low Bone Mineral Density in Young and Non‐Obese Patients With MASLD and Hyperuricemia

open access: yesThe Kaohsiung Journal of Medical Sciences, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Metabolic‐associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD) encompasses common comorbidities including low bone mineral density (BMD) and hyperuricemia (HU), yet relevant genetic analyses are limited. This study aimed to investigate the genetic effects of risk single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) on the occurrence of low BMD in patients with MASLD ...

Positive Association Between the Cardiometabolic Index and the Risk of Male Biochemical Androgen Deficiency in Adults

open access: yesThe Kaohsiung Journal of Medical Sciences, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Metabolic disorders are associated with testosterone deficiency, and the cardiometabolic index (CMI) is a recently identified metabolic indicator. The relationship between male biochemical androgen deficiency (MBAD), a precursor to testosterone deficiency, and CMI remains unclear.

The projected economic burden and complications of revision hip and knee arthroplasties: Insights from national registry studies

open access: yesKnee Surgery, Sports Traumatology, Arthroscopy, EarlyView.
Abstract The rising volume of primary hip and knee arthroplasties has led to a parallel increase in revision surgeries, creating significant clinical and economic challenges for healthcare systems worldwide. This study synthesizes national arthroplasty registry data to evaluate trends in revision aetiology, associated costs and regional disparities ...
