Ostracods are favorable research materials for paleoclimatic reconstruction. Limnocythere inopinata, a commonly Holarctic species, is used frequently in paleoclimatic research. However, few ostracods bioculture data and its applications for paleoclimatic

A review of rice field ostracods (Crustacea) with a checklist of species
Ostracods are very common in rice fields and they can have a significant influence on the rice field ecosystem. They can reach very high densities, often higher than other meiofauna, and their activities can have both positive and negative effects on ...

AbstractMesozoic, Cenozoic and especially Holocene ostracod faunas have been documented from Japan. Not surprisingly, considering the plate tectonic factors at play, very few ostracod faunas are known from its early Paleozoic successions. Our pilot studies have recovered new ostracod assemblages from early Paleozoic terranes of Japan.

Early Carboniferous Ostracods (Crustacea) from Death Valley, California, USA
Silicified ostracods from the Tin Mountain Limestone provide new information regarding the Carboniferous paleontology of the Death Valley Region, California, USA. Acid maceration of marine limestones yielded the following ostracods: Acratia spp., Bairdia
