Causes of Death in DSM-III Schizophrenics and Other Psychotics (Atypical Group)

Archives of General Psychiatry, 1988
Causes of death were determined in a cohort of DSM-III schizophrenics and in a group of "other" psychotics (with schizoaffective disorder, schizophreniform disorder, and atypical psychoses), and comparisons were made with the general population. Five causes of death were considered in this analysis: (1) infections, (2) neoplasms, (3) cardiovascular, (4)

Determination of Cytochrome c and Other Heme Proteins Using the Reduction Wave of Mercury Protoporphyrin IX Groups Generated by a Hydroxylamine Induced Replacement Reaction

Analytical Chemistry, 2009
We have found that in the presence of hydroxylamine, the heme prosthetic group of the heme protein adsorbed at the mercury electrode surface reacts with mercury ion produced by the electrochemical oxidation of mercury and is quantitatively converted into the mercury protoporphyrin IX group using single-sweep polarography.

The Throat Carrier Rate of Group a and Other Beta Hemolytic Streptococci Among Patients in General Practice

Acta Pathologica Microbiologica Scandinavica Series B: Microbiology, 1985
In a one‐year multicenter study in general practice the rate of asymptomatic throat carriage of group A beta hemolytic streptococci (GABHS) was investigated. 2,626 patients, none of whom had had sore throat or any other streptococcal illness during the preceding three months, were evaluated.

Annotated check-list, generic key and new species of Old World Deltocephalini leafhoppers with nomenclatorial changes in the Deltocephalus group and other Deltocephalinae (Hemiptera, Auchenorrhyncha, Cicadellidae)

Zootaxa, 2009
An annotated check-list and generic key to Old World members of the grassland leafhopper tribe Deltocephalini are provided. The Deltocephalus group of genera are discussed and one of the included genera, Recilia Edwards, is revised to include only two species, coronifer (Marshall) (= coroniceps Kirschbaum) and raoi (Dash & Viraktamath), comb. nov. (

Differential generators for magnetic Hamiltonians with paired spin-momenta and other spin groupings and for approximate equations of state of systems with competing fixed points

AIP Conference Proceedings, 1976
In treating critical phenomena of system Hamiltonians simulating complex realistic materials, the full structure of the renormalization group is usually unnecessarily complicated and cumbersome to work with. We point out that if the special features of the individual Hamiltonians are incorporated into the renormalization group equations from the ...

The Groups Generated by Two Operators Such that Each is Transformed into Its Inverse by the Square of the Other

The Annals of Mathematics, 1907
Since s2, s2 transform each other into their inverses, they are either commutative or they generate the quaternion group ; in the former case either both of them are of order two and they generate the four group, or both of them are the identity. The hypothesis that one is of order 2 while the other is the identity leads to an absurdity in view of the ...

Generic revision of the subfamily Betylobraconinae (Hymenoptera: Braconidae) and other groups with modified fore tarsus

1995
The genera of the subfamilies Betylobraconinae, Hormiinae, Lysiterminae, Pambolinae-Chremylini, and Doryctinae-Ypsistocerini are revised. A key is given to the genera of groups belonging to the cyclostome grade including species with shortened and/or (partly) widened fore tarsus. Sixteen new genera and 62 new species are described and illustrated.

Distribution of total serum IgE and specific IgE to common aeroallergens by sex and age, and their relationship to each other in a random sample of the Dutch general population aged 20-70 years. Dutch ECRHS Group, European Community Respiratory Health Study.

Allergy, 1997
To describe the distribution of serum total IgE and specific IgE to common aeroallergens by sex and age and to study their relationship to each other, we measured serum total IgE and specific IgE (CAP) to house-dust mite, timothy grass, cat, birch, and Cladosporium in a random sample of 2496 subjects, aged 20-70 years from the Dutch general population.
