Enhancing Corrosion Resistance and Mechanical Strength of 3D‐Printed Iron Polylactic Acid for Marine Applications via Laser Surface Texturing

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Laser surface texturing significantly improves the corrosion resistance and mechanical strength of 3D‐printed iron polylactic acid (Ir‐PLA) for marine applications. Optimal laser parameters reduce corrosion by 80% and enhance tensile strength by 25% and ductility by 15%.

A systematic method of finding linearizing transformations for nonlinear ordinary differential equations: I. Scalar case [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
In this set of papers we formulate a stand alone method to derive maximal number of linearizing transformations for nonlinear ordinary differential equations (ODEs) of any order including coupled ones from a knowledge of fewer number of integrals of ...

Poisson integrators

open access: yes, 2004
An overview of Hamiltonian systems with noncanonical Poisson structures is given. Examples of bi-Hamiltonian ode's, pde's and lattice equations are presented. Numerical integrators using generating functions, Hamiltonian splitting, symplectic Runge-Kutta

Critical behaviour of the dilute O(n), Izergin-Korepin and dilute $A_L$ face models: Bulk properties

open access: yes, 1996
The analytic, nonlinear integral equation approach is used to calculate the finite-size corrections to the transfer matrix eigen-spectra of the critical dilute O(n) model on the square periodic lattice.

Characterization of Defect Distribution in an Additively Manufactured AlSi10Mg as a Function of Processing Parameters and Correlations with Extreme Value Statistics

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Predicting extreme defects in additive manufacturing remains a key challenge limiting its structural reliability. This study proposes a statistical framework that integrates Extreme Value Theory with advanced process indicators to explore defect–process relationships and improve the estimation of critical defect sizes. The approach provides a basis for

The nonlinear heat equation involving highly singular initial values and new blowup and life span results

open access: yes, 2017
In this paper we prove local existence of solutions to the nonlinear heat equation $u_t = \Delta u +a |u|^\alpha u, \; t\in(0,T),\; x=(x_1,\,\cdots,\, x_N)\in {\mathbb R}^N,\; a = \pm 1,\; \alpha>0;$ with initial value $u(0)\in L^1_{\rm{loc}}\left ...

Henstock-Kurzweil-Pettis integral and weak topologies in nonlinear integral equations on time scales

open access: yes, 2013
The goal of the present work is to give an existence result for a nonlinear integral equation on time scales by considering the Banach space endowed with its weak topology.
