A technique of tripled coincidence points for solving a system of nonlinear integral equations in POCML spaces

open access: yesJournal of Inequalities and Applications, 2020
This manuscript aims to initiate some recent theoretical consequences related to tripled coincidence points for non-self mappings via the notion of C-type functions in partially ordered complete metric-like space (for short, POCML space).

Morphology and scaling in the noisy Burgers equation: Soliton approach to the strong coupling fixed point

open access: yes, 1997
The morphology and scaling properties of the noisy Burgers equation in one dimension are treated by means of a nonlinear soliton approach based on the Martin-Siggia-Rose technique. In a canonical formulation the strong coupling fixed point is accessed by

Air‐Pressure–Actuated Vibroacoustic Metamaterial With Tunable Bandgap: Design, Modeling, and Characterization

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This article presents the design, modeling, and characterization of air‐pressure–actuated programmable vibroacoustic metamaterials (PVAMM). The study focuses on leveraging air pressure to dynamically tune resonance frequencies for effective noise attenuation.

Fractional Jacobi–Picard iteration method using Gauss–Seidel technique for solving a system of nonlinear fractional differential equations

open access: yesAlexandria Engineering Journal
The main objective of this study is to introduce an improvement of Picard’s method, a technique commonly used to effectively solve a set of nonlinear fractional differential equations based on Caputo’s fractional derivative.

On the Positivity and Zero Crossings of Solutions of Stochastic Volterra Integrodifferential Equations

open access: yesInternational Journal of Differential Equations, 2010
We consider the zero crossings and positive solutions of scalar nonlinear stochastic Volterra integrodifferential equations of Itô type. In the equations considered, the diffusion coefficient is linear and depends on the current state, and the drift term

Four‐Point Bending Tests at High Temperatures on Commercial MgO‐C Refractory Bricks with and Without Recyclate Considering Different Carbon Contents

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Four‐point bending tests are conducted in an argon atmosphere on commercial MgO‐C brick grades with and without MgO‐C recyclate from room temperature up to 1300 °C. No detrimental effect of the MgO‐C recyclates on bending strength is found. Instead, a decisive influence of the total carbon content is observed, with lower total carbon contents ...

Numerical Modeling of Tank Cars Carrying Hazardous Materials With and Without Composite Metal Foam

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Large‐scale puncture models consisting of hazardous materials (HAZMATs) tank car with protective steel–steel composite metal foam (S–S CMF) are solved numerically. Tank car plate with added 10.91–13.33 mm thick S–S CMF layer does not puncture. Protective S–S CMF absorbs impact energy, reduces plate deformation, and prevents shear bands formation ...

Solid‐State Diffusion and Intermetallic Phase Formation in Roll‐Bonded Mg–Zn Composites With Kirigami‐Patterned Inlay

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Mg–Zn composites with a thickness of 0.21 mm were fabricated using roll bonding of a kirigami‐patterned Mg alloy inlay within a Zn matrix. Thermal activation following this process led to the formation of tailored intermetallic structures, which provided the composite with enhanced flexural strength.

A Novel Third Order Numerical Method for Solving Volterra Integro-Differential Equations

open access: yes, 2016
In this paper we introduce a numerical method for solving nonlinear Volterra integro-differential equations. In the first step, we apply implicit trapezium rule to discretize the integral in given equation.

A systematic method of finding linearizing transformations for nonlinear ordinary differential equations: I. Scalar case [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
In this set of papers we formulate a stand alone method to derive maximal number of linearizing transformations for nonlinear ordinary differential equations (ODEs) of any order including coupled ones from a knowledge of fewer number of integrals of ...
