Parsimonious Graphs for Selected Heptatonic and Pentatonic Scales [PDF]

open access: yes, 2022
[EN] Tonal music is based on major, melodic and harmonic minor scales. In some cases, the harmonic major scale is also used. In this paper, four additional heptatonic scale types, derived from them, are considered.

Structural transformations in Cu, Ag, and Au metal nanoclusters

open access: yes, 2023
Finite-temperature structures of Cu, Ag, and Au metal nanoclusters are calculated in the entire temperature range from 0 K to melting using a computational methodology that we proposed recently [Settem \emph{et al.}, Nanoscale, 2022, 14, 939].

César Franck, Restrained Pioneer: Formal Deformations and Harmonic Transformations in "Les Djinns"

open access: yes, 2021
The inclusion of innovative practices in Franck’s compositions led to works that blurred traditional models of form and harmony. Among these works is Les Djinns, a symphonic poem for piano and orchestra based on a poem by Victor Hugo.

Higher-dimensional automorphic lie algebras

open access: yes, 2016
The paper presents the complete classification of Automorphic Lie Algebras based on sln(C)sln(C) , where the symmetry group G is finite and acts on sln(C)sln(C) by inner automorphisms, sln(C)sln(C) has no trivial summands, and where the poles are in ...

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

Network divergence analysis identifies adaptive gene modules and two orthogonal vulnerability axes in pancreatic cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumors contain diverse cellular states whose behavior is shaped by context‐dependent gene coordination. By comparing gene–gene relationships across biological contexts, we identify adaptive transcriptional modules that reorganize into distinct vulnerability axes.

Pre‐analytical optimization of cell‐free DNA and extracellular vesicle‐derived DNA for mutation detection in liquid biopsies

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pre‐analytical handling critically determines liquid biopsy performance. This study defines practical best‐practice conditions for cell‐free DNA (cfDNA) and extracellular vesicle–derived DNA (evDNA), showing how processing time, storage conditions, tube type, and plasma input volume affect DNA integrity and mutation detection.
