Identification of Hasegawa Dementia Scale-Revised Cutoff Scores Associated With Mini-Mental State Examination Thresholds for Anti-Amyloid β Therapies in Patients With Amnesia. [PDF]

open access: yesPsychogeriatrics
ABSTRACT Background This study aimed to evaluate Hasegawa Dementia Scale‐Revised (HDS‐R) cutoff scores that correspond to Mini‐Mental State Examination (MMSE) thresholds for identifying candidates for anti‐amyloid β (Aβ) therapies. Additionally, we conducted exploratory analyses to examine the cognitive subdomains associated with Aβ status.

Granulocyte colony-stimulating factor producing retroperitoneal leiomyosarcoma. [PDF]

open access: yesIJU Case Rep, 2021
Introduction Granulocyte colony‐stimulating factor‐producing nonhematopoietic malignancies have poor clinical outcomes. Case presentation A 62‐year‐old woman complaining of fever and left lower quadrant pain was referred to our hospital. A left retroperitoneal tumor was suspected on computed tomography, and laboratory data showed leukocytosis and ...

Foul Biting, or Diego Valadés and the Medium of Print

open access: yesArt History, Volume 46, Issue 5, Page 866-895, November 2023., 2023
Published in 1579 in Perugia, Diego Valadés's Rhetorica christiana is best known today as the first illustrated publication to show evangelisation efforts in the Americas to audiences across the Atlantic. Yet too often the Rhetorica's status in the history of art is that of exotica, a book seen as rare and valuable due to its American subject matter ...

An efficient early‐pooling protocol for environmental DNA metabarcoding

open access: yesEnvironmental DNA, Volume 4, Issue 6, Page 1212-1228, November 2022., 2022
Our results show that an early‐pooling protocol with post‐1st‐PCR exonuclease purification and an increased amount of DNA template will reduce the risk of tag jumping, the costs for consumables and reagents, and the handling time in the library preparation and that it produces comparable results to a 2nd‐PCR‐indexing protocol.

Development and evaluation of a colorectal cancer screening method using machine learning‐based gut microbiota analysis

open access: yesCancer Medicine, Volume 11, Issue 16, Page 3194-3206, August 2022., 2022
We have established a new machine learning‐based colorectal cancer (CRC) diagnostic model using the gut microbiota as an indicator. Validation using independent test datasets showed that the true positive rate of our CRC diagnostic model increased substantially as CRC progressed from stage I to stage II.

Atmospheric Contributions to the Reversal of Surface Temperature Anomalies Between Early and Late Winter Over Eurasia

open access: yesEarth's Future, Volume 10, Issue 8, August 2022., 2022
Abstract Observations have shown subseasonal reversal of temperature anomalies between early and late winter over Eurasia, which is distinct from the seasonal mean condition. Based on the reanalysis data, the 1800‐year control simulation and the 40‐member ensemble simulations in 1920–2100 from the Community Earth System Model (CESM) Large Ensemble ...

Role of Oceanic Memory Effects in the Barents Sea in the Seasonal Linkage Between the Winter and Summer Arctic Oscillation

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Atmospheres, Volume 126, Issue 23, 16 December 2021., 2021
Abstract We investigated the mechanism of inter‐seasonal linkage between the winter Arctic Oscillation (AO) and the subsequent summer AO. Our focus was the collapse of the linkage in the late 1980s, associated with substantial sea ice loss in the Arctic.

Free Vibration Exploration of Rotating FGM Porosity Beams under Axial Load considering the Initial Geometrical Imperfection

open access: yesMathematical Problems in Engineering, Volume 2021, Issue 1, 2021., 2021
In practice, some components in large structures such as the connecting rods between the rotating parts in the engines, turbines, and so on, can model as beam structures rotating around the fixed axis and subject to the axial compression load; therefore, the study of mechanical behavior to these structures has a significant meaning in practice.
