Histology of Minor Salivary Glands in Tonsillar Diseases
Minor salivary glands in the peritonsillar space showed significantly greater periductal inflammation in peritonsillar abscess than in acute tonsillitis or tonsillar hypertrophy, supporting the hypothesis that abscesses may originate from infection of the minor salivary glands.
