Optical Coherence Tomography as an Emerging Technique for Identifying Pediatric Middle Ear Effusion. [PDF]
LaryngoscopeThis prospective study evaluated optical coherence tomography (OCT) as a diagnostic tool for identifying middle ear effusion (MEE) in 164 pediatric patients. OCT was determined to have a sensitivity of 74% and a specificity of 93%, comparable to otoscopy and tympanometry, with moderate agreement (κ = 0.41) between clinical and non‐clinical raters.
