An Outline of Ottoman Maritime History
2004This chapter provides an outline of the maritime history of the Ottoman Empire, in attempt to prove that maritime activity was integral to the success of the empire. It also seeks to determine the reasons behind the empire’s slow decline during the eighteenth century.

Yet, Ottomanists have a responsibility to research these events and their origins to promote a more complete understanding of them.

A Military History of the Ottomans
