Giresun came under Ottoman rule after Fatih Sultan Mehmet conquered Trabzon in 1461. With the conquest, settlement activities started in Giresun province, and in this context, many dervish lodges and zawiyas, primary schools, teachers' houses and madrasas were built as educational institutions.

Three names in the urology of Ottoman period

Life history and academical studies of three urologists, who had taken roles at the establishment of Turkish urology, were investigated in this review. When looked back into the history, these three urologists remained with their names only. Unfortunately new generation urologists do not know these people.

Tres peu de numeros ont survecu. L'un de ces periodiques fut le journal officiel, Kuds-i Serif, qui parut de 1904 a 1909, puis de 1913 a 1915.
