On the Outage Probability of Distributed MAC With ZF Detection
IEEE Transactions on Communications, 2018Distributed scheduling is an attractive approach for the Multiple-Access Channel (MAC). However, when a subset of the users access the channel simultaneously, distributed rate coordination is necessary, and is a major challenge, since the channel capacity of each user highly depends on the channels of other active users.

Outage probability for multimodal cooperative networks
2011 45th Annual Conference on Information Sciences and Systems, 2011We consider the performance of small-scale heterogeneous cooperative networks in which some nodes can transmit and/or receive using channels not available to other nodes, i.e., multimodal communication networks. As an example, we assume the presence of an additional wired channel in a conventional diamond relay network operating under the Laneman ...

Outage Probability of a Cellular IoT Network
2020 International Conference on Communication and Signal Processing (ICCSP), 2020Integration of the Internet of Things (IoT) in a cellular network (CN) will eliminate the need for a separate network for IoT communication. The connection of IoT devices (IoTDs) directly to the eNodeB base Station (BS) will make its acceptance and acquisition rapidly in one’s life.

Outage probability of multihop relay networks
2013 9th International Wireless Communications and Mobile Computing Conference (IWCMC), 2013In this paper we analyze the outage performance of a multihop cooperative relay network where relays in the system can change positions dynamically and use all possible links to forward the message to the next hop over Rayleigh fading channels. We derive the general closed form expression of outage probability and asymptotic coding gain of the network.

Analysis of Outage Probability for Cooperative Networks with HARQ
2007 IEEE International Symposium on Information Theory, 2007We derive the expressions of the outage probability for a wireless network that integrates hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) and coded cooperation among nodes. The medium access control (MAC) provides a HARQ protocol where the source node, upon a decoding failure at the destination node, transmits additional coded bits for the same data packet. If

Probable outages of shielded transmission lines
Electrical Engineering, 1937Based on the observed phenomenon that flashover of transmission-line towers provided with 2 overhead ground wires occurs only when the product of tower footing resistance and tower surge current exceeds the insulation strength, the probable outages that will occur on a line can be obtained by a simple method.

Outage Probability of Rician Fading Relay Channels
MILCOM 2006, 2006In this paper, we consider the decode-and-forward (DF) relay network system over Rician fading channels. We derive an analytical expression for the outage probability of the highest achievable information rate of the system, which can be evaluated by employing standard numerical techniques. We also obtain some simple but tight lower and upper bounds on

Outage Probability of LDPC-Coded Systems
IEEE GLOBECOM 2007-2007 IEEE Global Telecommunications Conference, 2007Outage probability is an important performance measure of wireless communication systems operating in a fading environment. In this paper, we study the outage probability of low-density parity-check (LDPC) coded systems for slow fading channels (nonergodic channels) under the assumption that the transmitter knows only the channel statistics while the ...

Correlated lognormal interferers and outage probabilities
Proceedings of IEEE Pacific Rim Conference on Communications Computers and Signal Processing, 2002Three approaches that can be used to compute the distribution of a sum of correlated lognormal RVs (random variables) are investigated. Specifically, Wilkinson's approach, an extension of Schwartz and Yeh's approach, and a cumulants matching approach are investigated, and their accuracies are compared.

Outage Probability for MIMO Relay Channel
IEEE Transactions on Communications, 2014The channel capacity for the multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) relay channel is still an open problem. In view of this gap, upper and lower bounds were found by Wang et al., 2005. This paper presents an extensive study of mutual information and outage probability of Rayleigh fading MIMO relay channels based on the eigenvalues distribution for the ...
