The Future Hospital in Global Health Systems: The Future Hospital as an Entity
ABSTRACT Health care is changing rapidly. Hospitals are, and will remain, an essential setting to deliver it. We discuss how to maximise the benefits of hospitals in the future in different geographic and health system settings, highlighting a series of cross‐cutting issues.

On the Impact of Mobility on Outage Probability in Cellular Networks [PDF]
In this paper, we develop an analytical study of the mobility in cellular networks and its impact on quality of service and outage probability. We first express analytically the downlink other-cell interference factor f by using a fluid model network. It is defined here as the ratio of outer cell received power to the inner cell received power.

Hot Spot Induced Thermal Runaway Map for Polymerization Reactors
Definitive thresholds for thermal runaway from LDPE hot spots are derived in this work. Increasing both initial temperature and initial catalyst concentration increased thermal runaway likelihood, while, counterintuitively, hot spot volume has no effect. This provides more context for hot spot tracking and prevention in LDPE reactors.

The outage probability of reverse link multicarrier (MC) code-division multiple access (CDMA) systems with beamforming in the presence of carrier frequency offset (CFO) is studied. A conventional uniform linear array (ULA) beamformer is utilized.

Outage Analysis and Beamwidth Optimization for Positioning-Assisted Beamforming [PDF]
Conventional beamforming is based on channel estimation, which can be computationally intensive and inaccurate when the antenna array is large. In this work, we study the outage probability of positioning-assisted beamforming systems. Closed-form outage probability bounds are derived by considering positioning error, link distance and beamwidth.

Outage Performance Analysis of Multicarrier Relay Selection for Cooperative Networks
In this paper, we analyze the outage performance of two multicarrier relay selection schemes, i.e. bulk and per-subcarrier selections, for two-hop orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM) systems.

Minimum common outage probability for the broadcast relay channel [PDF]
In this paper the broadcast relay channel (BRC) is studied. In the BRC model, the source communicates with two destinations with the help of a single relay. The minimum common outage probability for four different transmission protocols, direct transmission (DT), multihop (MH), path selection (PS) and link combination with path selection (LCPS) is ...

Hybrid-Duplex Communications for Multi-UAV Networks: An Outage Probability Analysis
In this letter, the outage probability of an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) network with hybrid-duplex (HBD) UAV communications is investigated in a stochastic geometry framework.

Inspection Game With Imperfect Detection Technology
ABSTRACT In this article, we investigate a generalized two‐player inspection game between an attacker and a defender who allocates multiple resources across a critical system. Specifically, the attacker targets components of the system while the defender coordinates multiple inspection units to monitor disjoint subsets of components and detect attacks.

Outage performance of SWIPT-NOMA-CR network with imperfect SIC and CSI
For the cognitive relay network based on simultaneous wireless information and power transfer (SWIPT) and non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA), which is termed as SWIPT-NOMA-CR network, considering the practical situation of imperfect successive ...
