Foodborne disease surveillance annual summary 1981

In 1981 there were 568 outbreaks (14,432 cases) of foodborne disease reported to the Centers for Disease Control. The etiology was confirmed in 44% of the outbreaks. Bacterial pathogens accounted for 185 outbreaks (8,208 cases).
