Diagnosis, Prognosis, and Drug Target Discovery for Chronic Widespread Pain: A Large Proteogenomic Study

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Plasma proteomics is leveraged to decode the biological underpinnings of chronic widespread pain. A nested machine learning framework integrates proteomic signatures, prospective outcomes, and Mendelian randomization to uncover 18 causal proteins.

Peptide Electrostatic Modulation Directs Human Neural Cell Fate

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study explores the effect of charge on the bioactivity of peptide‐based supramolecular materials. The design of a peptide library with varying charges that self‐assemble into supramolecular fibers is presented, demonstrating how the surface charge of these fibers, used as artificial extracellular matrices, influences the fate of human neural ...

Type 2 Diabetes‐Associated Phenylacetylglutamine Induces Deleterious Inflammation Cycle in Myeloid Cells through β2 Adrenergic Receptors and Impedes Wound Healing

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The microbiota‐derived metabolite phenylacetylglutamine (PAGln) is elevated in type 2 diabetes and tightly associated with poor healing in both diabetic and non‐diabetic human patients. PAGln promotes mouse inflammation and impairs healing through a transmissible β2‐adrenergic receptor–mediated trained‐immunity loop.

Lignin‐Containing Nanocellulose Mediated Interlayer Modulation Unlocks Stable and Redispersible MXene

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Amphiphilic lignin‐containing nanocellulose (LNC) establishes competitive interactions between MXene nanosheets, enabling precise modulation of interlayer spacing and interfacial chemistry. This strategy allows rapid fabrication of semi‐solid MXene via industrial‐scale spray drying, achieving long‐term reversible redispersibility and exceptional ...

Active Learning‐Assisted Exploration of [PO40Mo12]3− for Alzheimer's Therapy Insights

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Bayesian Optimization coupled with active learning to uncover the interaction mechanism of [PO40Mo12]3− on amyloid‐β peptide. Abstract Alzheimer's disease (AD), involving amyloid‐β (Aβ) aggregation, has potential therapeutic modulators in polyoxometalates (POMs) like [PMo12O40]3−.

Neural Response Reliability as a Marker of the Transition of Neural Codes along Auditory Pathways

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Decoding sound from neural activity in mice reveals a striking shift in how the brain encodes sound: from precise but redundant timing codes in early auditory areas to efficient, synergistic rate‐based codes in the cortex. This transformation highlights a robust neural strategy for turning complex acoustic input into coherent perception across the ...
