Advances in Floating Solar Desalination Systems

open access: yesWater and Environment Journal, EarlyView.
This review critically classifies floating solar desalination systems into five main categories and compares their thermal performance, productivity and technological limitations. Membrane‐based and multieffect systems showed the highest efficiencies, while traditional designs remain limited by heat losses and scaling.

Passive heat intervention research in women: Systematic review and audit of female representation

open access: yesExperimental Physiology, EarlyView.
Abstract Passive heat interventions (PHIs) are non‐exercise heat‐acclimation strategies that improve physiological markers associated with heat tolerance and reduce vulnerability to heat‐related illness, when exercise is not feasible. However, representation of female participants within this literature remains unclear.

A Transparent Long‐Term Cooling Green Plant‐Like Window for Net‐Zero Energy Buildings

open access: yesCarbon Neutralization, Volume 5, Issue 4, July 2026.
In this work, we report a bioinspired transparent green plant‐like window that integrates passive cooling, thermal insulation, and solar‐driven waste heat recovery to reduce building energy consumption. Outdoor field tests and 168‐h solar simulator exposure confirm long‐term thermal stability and cooling up to 21.9°C, and then simulations across 30 ...
