Global Riverine Plastic Outflows.
Environmental Science and Technology, 2020Global marine plastic pollution, which is derived mainly from inputs of vast amounts of land-based plastic waste, has drawn increasing public attention.

Acetazolamide and Outflow Facility
Archives of Ophthalmology, 1966The carbonic anhydrase inhibitors are the drugs most useful clinically in reducing aqueous flow and lowering intraocular pressure. 1-3 Their hypotensive effect is greater in the hypertensive eye than in the normal, and in the latter has been reported to be accompanied by a compensatory reduction in outflow facility.

IN RECENT years considerable knowledge has been added to our understanding of aqueous outflow. Although it had been known for many years that patients with chronic simple glaucoma had a decreased facility (increased resistance) of aqueous outflow,1it is through the recent efforts of Goldmann2and Grant3that these findings have been placed on a more ...

There is ample evidence that chronic simple glaucoma has familial tendencies. 1 Investigations by Becker et al 2 and Miller and Paterson 3,4 demonstrated that close relatives and descendants of patients with simple glaucoma have increased values for P o , reduced values for C, and thus elevation of P o /C—all in significant amounts.

Uveoscleral outflow – A review
Experimental Eye Research, 2009The uveoscleral outflow route was described more than 40 years ago. Part of aqueous leaves the eye through the iris root. The ciliary muscle, and there are large species differences in the fraction of aqueous outflow that leaves the eye through this route. In non-human primates 40-50% of aqueous leaves the eye by the uveoscleral route.

The Conventional Outflow Resistances
American Journal of Ophthalmology, 1981The concept of the conventional aqueous outflow pathway (through the trabecular meshwork and other components of the canal's inner wall, along Schlemm's canal to collector channels, and out of the eye through the collector channels) was modeled on tubes with leaky walls and a network of electrical resistances.

To evaluate patients with lacrimal dysgenesis.Retrospective, nonrandomized, comparative case series.Fifty patients with lacrimal dysgenesis managed between 1992 and 2003. TESTING/INTERVENTION: The diagnosis of lacrimal outflow dysgenesis was made based on the following criteria: absent or hypoplastic punctum, canaliculus, lacrimal sac, and nasolacrimal

Outflow facility studies in the perfused bovine aqueous outflow pathways
Current Eye Research, 1988We have recently developed a technique for constant pressure perfusion of the aqueous outflow pathway of the eye. Our preliminary studies, conducted in the calf eye, show surprisingly that the manipulations necessary for preparing the outflow pathways and attached corneoscleral shell for perfusion do not greatly disrupt normal aqueous outflow ...

Sympathetic Vasodilator Outflow
Physiological Reviews, 1954Abstract : Excitation of the sympathetic vasodilator outflow by hypothalamic and medullary stimulation causes a concomitant increase of cardiac contractile force and of skeletal muscle blood flow indicating those effects being integral parts of the reaction pattern elicited by intracerebral activation of the sympathetic vasodilator system.

In this contribution, I present a broad “historical” review of the various hydrodynamical models that have been considered for explaining molecular outflows, and of their merits and failures when compared with observations. Wind-driven bubbles, viscous jet mixing-layers, and jet bowshocks, are discussed in turn.
