Transcripts enriched in codons that trigger P‐site tRNA‐mediated mRNA decay possess stable mRNA

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
PTMD codons were first described by Mendel et al. as mediators of an mRNA decay pathway dependent on the human protein CNOT3, homologous to yeast Not5. Our findings confirm that PTMD codons destabilize transcripts; however, unlike in yeast, the human pathway specifically targets and slightly destabilizes primarily stable mRNAs.

The properties of nonuniformity analysis of high dimensional data

open access: yesLietuvos Matematikos Rinkinys, 2004
A novel approach to outlier detection and clustering on the ground of the distribution of distances between multidimensional points is presented. The basic idea is to eval uate the outlier factor for each data point.

Comparative study on multivariate outlier detection methods in sesame (Sesamum indicum L.)

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Plant Breeding, 2019
Outlier detection in multivariate dataset is not quite trivial when compared to univariate. The tediousness in multivariate outlier is due to presence of swamping and masking effect which portrays an ideal sample point as outlier instead of true one ...

Hyperosmotic stress‐induced redistribution of pre‐mRNA cleavage factor I subunits is associated with shifts in alternative polyadenylation

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Hyperosmotic stress triggers the relocation of the CFIm complex from the nucleus to the cytoplasm. This shift creates a nuclear ‘stoichiometric bottleneck’, limiting CFIm availability for mRNA processing. Consequently, specific mRNAs like NUDT21 and DICER1 undergo targeted 3′UTR shortening, demonstrating how spatial protein dynamics drive rapid ...

An Outlier Fuzzy Detection Method Using Fuzzy Set Theory

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2019
Outlier mining task is to discover some unusual objects, and however, most existing methods and their mining results lack pertinence. To address the pertinence of outlier results, we propose a novel outlier detection approach, namely, FOD, which aims at ...

Outlier detection in video sequences under affine projection

open access: yes, 2001
A novel robust method for outlier detection in structure and motion recovery for affine cameras is presented. It is an extension of the well-known Tomasi-Kanade factorization technique (C. Tomasi T. Kanade, 1992) designed to handle outliers.

Cutaneous Melanoma Drives Metabolic Changes in the Aged Bone Marrow Immune Microenvironment

open access: yesAging and Cancer, EarlyView.
Melanoma, the deadliest form of skin cancer, increasingly affects older adults. Our study reveals that melanoma induces changes in iron and lipid levels in the bone marrow, impacting immune cell populations and increasing susceptibility to ferroptosis.

Outlier detection in GARCH models [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
We present a new procedure for detecting multiple additive outliers in GARCH(1,1) models at unknown dates. The outlier candidates are the observations with the largest standardized residual. First, a likelihood-ratio based test determines the presence and timing of an outlier.

Fault detection for binary sensors in smart home environments

open access: yes, 2015
Experiments in assisted living confirm that such systems can provide context-aware services that enable occupants to remain active and independent. They also demonstrate that abnormal sensor events hamper the correct identification of critical (and ...

Clustering Algorithm Reveals Dopamine‐Motor Mismatch in Cognitively Preserved Parkinson's Disease

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective To explore the relationship between dopaminergic denervation and motor impairment in two de novo Parkinson's disease (PD) cohorts. Methods n = 249 PD patients from Parkinson's Progression Markers Initiative (PPMI) and n = 84 from an external clinical cohort.
