Septin 9 PB domains coordinate centrosome positioning and microtubule acetylation to control epithelial polarity

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Septin 9 polybasic domains couple phosphoinositide‐rich membrane binding to centrosome positioning, Golgi organization, and microtubule acetylation to control epithelial polarity. Their loss disrupts this axis, causing centrosome mispositioning, Golgi fragmentation, reduced microtubule acetylation, and polarity inversion via upregulation of the ...

Experimental Study on the Effect of Sand and Dust on the Performance of Photovoltaic Modules in Desert Areas

open access: yesEnergies
Photovoltaic power generation is one of the most effective measures to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and the surface of photovoltaic modules in desert areas is mainly affected by sand erosion and cover, which affect power output.

Output Characteristics of GaAs Cell Irradiated by Laser

open access: yesPhotonic Sensors, 2018
The output characteristics of GaAs cell are keys for the laser wireless power transmission system design. The measurement platform for the output characteristics of GaAs cell is established by single-junction GaAs cell and 1064 nm fiber laser.

Degradation mechanism of the von Willebrand factor A2 domain by nattokinase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Nattokinase, a natto‐derived protease, exhibits potent antithrombotic effects. This study demonstrates that nattokinase directly cleaves the von Willebrand factor (vWF) A2 domain in vitro. Unlike the native regulator ADAMTS13, nattokinase degrades folded vWF independently of shear stress.

Modulation of Homer1 EVH1 domain internal dynamics by putative autism‐associated mutations

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The putative autism‐associated M65I and S97L variants of the EVH1 domain of the postsynaptic scaffold protein Homer1 do not exhibit substantial changes in their overall structure or partner binding. Both of them, but especially the M65I variant, show altered internal dynamics relative to the wild‐type domain on the μs‐ms timescale, indicated by the ...

Salmonella lipopolysaccharide‐containing supported lipid bilayers as platforms to study bacteriophage interactions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We present robust protocols for the preparation of supported lipid bilayers (SLBs) incorporating either Salmonella smooth LPS or outer membrane vesicles (OMVs). We use a combination of quartz crystal microbalance with dissipation (QCM‐D) and fluorescence microscopy to both characterize the SLBs of various compositions and to probe their interactions ...

Effect of Structural Parameters on Output Characteristics of a Novel Self-Supplied Aviation Intelligent Pump

open access: yesActuators
The aviation intelligent pump system is an effective solution to aircraft hydraulic systems’ inefficient power consumption and temperature increase. A self-supplied aviation intelligent pump (SAIP) has a high power-to-weight ratio and compact structure ...

Thermal output coupling characteristics of high-temperature strain gauges

open access: yes工程科学学报, 2018
Contact strain measurement is used to study the high-temperature mechanical behavior of materials and components. The measurement precision, which is mainly affected by the thermal output, is very vital in high-temperature strain measurement.
