Distance to hedgerows drives local repulsion and attraction of wind turbines on bats: Implications for spatial siting

open access: yesJournal of Applied Ecology, Volume 59, Issue 8, Page 2142-2153, August 2022., 2022
This study provides empirical evidence that wind turbines close to optimal habitats such as hedgerows strongly repel bats, while wind turbines located farther away in open areas could attract them. Increased risks of collisions and habitat losses near edges strengthen the importance of keeping wind turbines at a sufficient distance from woody edges (e ...

5. CONTROVERSIAL CHRONOLOGIES: THE TEMPORAL DEMARCATION OF HISTORIC EVENTS

open access: yesHistory and Theory, Volume 60, Issue 1, Page 134-149, March 2021., 2021
ABSTRACT In everyday language and in historiography, influential events are commonly described as “historic” but are rarely defined from a theoretical standpoint. Discussing temporal demarcations of events by scholars—in particular William H. Sewell Jr.'s foundational study of the Storming of the Bastille—this article considers the contemporary urge to

Thiamidol containing treatment regimens in facial hyperpigmentation: An international multi‐centre approach consisting of a double‐blind, controlled, split‐face study and of an open‐label, real‐world study

open access: yesInternational Journal of Cosmetic Science, Volume 42, Issue 4, Page 377-387, August 2020., 2020
Face care regimen containing Thiamidol, improves facial hyperpigmentation and is well tolerated. Abstract Objective Tyrosinase is the rate‐limiting enzyme in melanogenesis. Thiamidol is the most potent inhibitor of human tyrosinase out of 50 000 tested compounds.

Alfred de Musset, La Nuit vénitienne, Le Chandelier, Un Caprice, Il faut qu’une porte soit ouverte ou fermée [PDF]

open access: yesStudi Francesi, 2011

open access: yesAnthropology of Consciousness, Volume 37, Issue 1, Spring 2026.
ABSTRACT That night that he agreed to our suggestion that we accompany him outside, for the whole night or until the overflow has passed, M seemed to be in direct contact with all the layers of astronomy, inhabiting all temporalities simultaneously. Outside, lying/sitting on the picnic table, in the pitch‐black darkness of the night in the woods, under

Minimizing aviation lighting duration reduces bat attraction to wind turbines

open access: yesJournal of Applied Ecology, Volume 63, Issue 1, January 2026.
This study provides empirical evidence that attraction behaviour of bats towards wind turbines is driven, at least partially, by red aviation lighting. We also demonstrate that smart lighting of wind turbines, such as the ADLS, could cost‐effectively help mitigate disruption of bat habitat use and the associated collision risks.
