Journal of Pediatric Surgery, 2002Ovarian torsion causing the loss of an ovary represents the most common complication of fetal ovarian cysts and occurs more frequently before than after birth. Thus, treatment of fetal simple ovarian cysts should be performed antenatally; however, criteria for prenatal decompression still need to be evaluated.

Ovarian Reserve and Ovarian Cysts
2013Ultrasound has become the most widely used and important tool in the diagnosis and treatment of infertility and IVF. Measuring the antral follicle count (AFC) is one of the best predictors for estimating ovarian reserve. This initial ultrasound exam will immediately affect the management of the patient and help determine IVF stimulation protocols.

Obstetrical & Gynecological Survey, 1951IN A previous paper entitled "Ovarian Conservation during Surgery"1 particular attention was paid to bilateral ovarian dermoids and ovarian endometriosis. Two patients were reported therein who had bilateral ovarian dermoid cysts and in whom at operation a piece of normal-appearing ovary was preserved.
