This is a review of cases of ovarian cyst encountered in childhood in the Manchester children's hospitals. The patients presented with acute or recurrent abdominal pain or an abdominal or pelvic mass. The commonest cyst found was a teratoma, which was discovered because of its size or because of a complication.

The presence of an ovarian dermoid cyst in the pelvis may be suspected or confidently diagnosed by the recognition of one or more of the following appearances:— 1. Tooth formation—which may be associated with limited ossification. Individual dental structures may be seen as unformed denticles or as fully-developed teeth: whilst a single tooth may be ...

Ovarian Reserve and Ovarian Cysts
2013Ultrasound has become the most widely used and important tool in the diagnosis and treatment of infertility and IVF. Measuring the antral follicle count (AFC) is one of the best predictors for estimating ovarian reserve. This initial ultrasound exam will immediately affect the management of the patient and help determine IVF stimulation protocols.
