Pediatric Radiology, 1996Ovarian fibroma rarely occurs in prepubertal girls. However, we found such an asymptomatic, large, uncalcified pelvic mass in an otherwise healthy 12-year-old girl. The plain films (radiographs), US and CT findings are presented.

International Journal of Gynecology and Obstetrics, 1990AbstractTwenty‐three cases of ovarian fibroma, comprising 3% of all benign tumors seen over a 20‐year period, were analyzed. It was unilateral in all cases affecting more commonly the left ovary (70%). Whilst a majority of cases (77%) were encountered in the reproductive age group, the tumor was rare before the second decade.

Abstract Fibroma of both ovaries is reported in a 73-year-old white woman. The large growths appeared grossly almost alike and microscopically they mimicked ovarian stroma. They contained no epithelial elements. There was no associated ascites and hydrothorax.

Bilateral Calcified Ovarian Fibromas
Southern Medical Journal, 1984A 12-year-old girl with abdominal pain and occasional dark vaginal discharge was found upon abdominal x-ray examination to have amorphous pelvic calcification. Calcification can occur in ovarian fibromas and should be considered as a cause of amorphous pelvic calcification in female patients.

Bilateral ovarian fibromas in children

These lesions occur rarely in premenarchal females and may be a manifestation of Nevoid Basal Cell Syndrome. Calcifications are reported to occur rarely in ovarian fibromas but seem to occur frequently in fibromas in children. Management is guided by the benignity
