Over‐dispersed count data in crop and agronomy research

Journal of Agronomy and Crop Science, 2019
AbstractWhile evaluating plant response to biotic or abiotic stress and genotype–environment interactions and searching causes of yield gap, very often are observed data with non‐normal distributions. One of the commonly encountered types of variables with a non‐normal distribution is count data. Count data are defined as the type of observations which

Analysis of short time series with an over-dispersion model

Communications in Statistics - Theory and Methods, 1995
There are certain situations where one observes several short time series. For instance, in testing the effect of a drug on patients, a doctor may obtain 3 or 4 blood pressure measurements every three hours from several patients; thus we have several short time series to deal with.

A Combined Coding and Modulation Approach for Communication over Dispersive Channels

IEEE Transactions on Communications, 1973
The concept of combining the design of the error-correcting-coding approach and the modulation format is treated in general terms and its effectiveness is demonstrated by a specific implementation referred to as Codem I. A new decoding algorithm is presented, which has the interesting property that the only channel measurement information utilized is ...

Interval estimation of the mean difference in the analysis of over‐dispersed count data

Biometrical Journal, 2012
This paper focuses on the development and study of the confidence interval procedures for mean difference between two treatments in the analysis of over‐dispersed count data in order to measure the efficacy of the experimental treatment over the standard treatment in clinical trials. In this study, two simple methods are proposed.

Modelling Over-Dispersion Countable Data with GLMM

2023
Bu çalışmanın amacı, varyansın ortalamadan büyük olduğu Poisson dağılımlı verilerde, aşırı yayılım sorununun giderilmesidir. Bu amaçla Türkiye İstatistik Kurumu (TÜİK) hayvancılık istatistiklerinden elde edilen, IBBS-1 düzeyinde arıcılık yapan işletme varlığına ilişkin 2004 yılı ile 2022 yılları arasındaki veriler kullanılmıştır.

Wireless Communication over Dispersive Channels.

2010
Broadband wireless communication systems require high transmission rates, where the bandwidth of the transmitted signal is larger than the channel coherence bandwidth. This gives rise to time dispersion of the transmitted symbols or frequency-selectivity with different frequency components exhibiting different gains.
