Reduction of Lead Leaching from Overglaze Decoration by Treatment with a Weak Acid

open access: diamondJournal of the Ceramic Society of Japan, 1997
The lead leaching from overglaze decoration was greatly reduced after soaking in 4% acetic acid for 10 to 24h. The effectiveness of the treatment in reducing the lead leaching was confirmed. Most overglaze decorations showed no change in gloss or color after the treatment with acetic acid.

Reduction of Lead Leacing from Porcelain Overglaze Decoration by Firing in a Water-Vapor Atmosphere

open access: diamondJournal of the Ceramic Society of Japan, 1995
Recently, the amount of lead leaching from tableware has come under strict regulation. Firing in a watervapor atmosphere has been shown to reduce greatly the leaching of lead by some investigations. However, the mechanism of the reduction of lead leaching has not been discussed.

IDENTIFICATION AND DIFFERENTIATION OF OPAQUE CHINESE OVERGLAZE YELLOW ENAMELS BY RAMAN SPECTROSCOPY AND SUPPORTING TECHNIQUES* [PDF]

open access: bronzeArchaeometry, 2009
Using Raman spectroscopy, energy‐dispersive X‐ray fluorescence and X‐ray diffraction, the Pb–Sn–Sb triple oxide yellow and lead–tin yellow have been identified on two pieces of cloisonné enamel (Falangcai) porcelains. Lead–tin yellow and lead antimonate yellow have been identified on famille rose porcelains manufactured before and after 1911 ...

Multilayer Super-Translucent Zirconia for Chairside Fabrication of a Monolithic Posterior Crown. [PDF]

open access: yesCase Rep Dent, 2022
This case report describes the chairside fabrication of a monolithic posterior crown using a multilayer super‐translucent zirconia material. According to the manufacturer’s information, the newly introduced multilayer zirconia (4‐YTZP) offers a unique combination of fracture strength (>850 MPa with speed‐sintering) and improved optical properties, thus
