Electrodynamics Simulation of Overhead Power Lines

IEEE Transactions on Power Delivery, 2012
Electrical overhead power lines are important installations today. They are the main part of electric transmission and distribution systems that are vital to developed societies. A key factor for proper operation is correct clearance between conducting parts and earthed parts. These separations can be altered by the movement in the conductors caused by

Smart Tower of Overhead Power Lines

2019 International Conference on Industrial Engineering, Applications and Manufacturing (ICIEAM), 2019
A distinctive feature of a smart electrical network is the continuous monitoring of the state of overhead power lines (OHL). An important problem is the effective location of the damage to the OHL, as well as monitoring the external impact of the environment causing accidents.

Design of a Wireless Sensor Node for Overhead High Voltage Transmission Power Lines

IEEE Transactions on Power Delivery, 2023
High Voltage (HV) overhead power lines are systems of interconnected elements that deliver massive amounts of electrical energy over long distances. Electrical conductors, used as energy carriers, are designed according voltage, current, and temperature ...

Overhead Power Line Fault Positioning System

Applied Mechanics and Materials, 2013
Aimed at the situations of the low accuracy of overhead line fault detection and the high cost of line fault information transmission with the aid of GSM correspondence network, this paper introduces overhead line fault detection and location system as the core of industrial computer.

Overhead power line stringing with UAV

2017 12th International Conference on Live Maintenance (ICOLIM), 2017
The goal of this abstract is to explain the methods and procedures developed by CME — Construcao e Manutencao Electromecânica, SA to execute overhead LLW Stringing — with an intelligent flight done by UAV's — Unmanned Aerial Vehicles leading to significant cost benefits and improved security, in contrast to conventional systems (helicopters, industrial

Simulation of a overhead power line

2012 11th International Conference on Environment and Electrical Engineering, 2012
Overhead power lines are the prevailing facilities to carry electric energy along big distances. Their proper functioning is very important for the current society due our highly electrical-dependent lifestyle. During their working, overhead power lines are under different phenomena, such as short-circuits, high-speed winds, extreme temperature ...

Electrothermal analysis of overhead power lines

2012 IEEE International Conference on Industrial Technology, 2012
In this work a complete coupled electrothrmal analysis of overhead power lines is presented. The electromagnetic field problem is soved analytically for both the AAC and ACSR cases. The Joule losses thus computed are input to the thermal problem yielding the analytical expression of the thermal impedance.

Fiber-Optical Sensor with an Acousto-Optical Filter for Monitoring the Status of Overhead Power Lines

2019 International Ural Conference on Electrical Power Engineering (UralCon), 2019
The paper considers the problem of measuring the state parameters of overhead power lines. It suggests a measurement method using acousto-optic filters and fiber Bragg gratings of various types formed in the fiber.

Resultant reactive power of overhead lines

Proceedings of the IEE Part C: Monographs, 1956
A method is demonstrated for arriving at simple formulae by which the resultant reactive power of overhead lines under any load condition can be quickly calculated, and in which the only line constant necessary to be known is the inductance. Tables of practical overhead-line inductances are given.
