Sem Examination of an Overheated Aluminum Wired Electrical Receptacle
Proceedings, annual meeting, Electron Microscopy Society of America, 1976The contact surfaces of an electrical receptacle that overheated during current cycling tests were examined by SEM and energy dispersive X-ray analysis. This was part of a study in the causes of overheating that occasionally occur in household electrical receptacles wired with aluminum cable.

Model to predict overheating risk based on an electrical capacitor analogy
Energy and Buildings, 2008It is important for building designers to be able to judge if a space is likely to overheat, whether to determine if HVAC plant is required or to design this out by passive means. To this end several overheating risk criteria have recently been published.

Mild-Hybrid Electric Vehicle: EM management to prevent dry clutch overheating
2018 European Control Conference (ECC), 2018Heat power generated in dry clutch systems during repeated engagements could result in marked uncomfort and manifest damage clutch facing materials. Indeed, recent studies have highlighted as during a single launch manoeuvre the interface temperature can amount about 30–35 Celsius degree.

SF6 Byproducts in Simulated Electric Equipment of Overheating Faults in High Humidity
Applied Mechanics and Materials, 2014The decomposition of sulfur hexafluoride (SF6) in overheated electric equipment at different temperature in high humidity was simulated in the study. SF6 is very stable and not significantly decomposed at 200 °C, 250 °C and 300 °C. SF6 is significantly decomposed at 350 °C.

Detection and formation process of overheated electrical joints due to faulty connections
26th International Conference on Electrical Contacts (ICEC 2012), 2012Overheated electrical joints due to faulty connections are often precursors of electric fires, arc faults and arc flash in electrical systems. NEMA procedures call for visual inspection and re-torque on a regular base. Various technologies have been developed for the detection and mitigation of overheated connections.

Using a bayes classifier to optimize alarm generation to electric power generator stator overheating
IEEE Transactions on Instrumentation and Measurement, 2003This paper shows how a Bayes classifier can be implemented for a failure detection system where statistical failure data is not available for one of the classes. Results of field data obtained from a large electric power generator are shown. The classifier is further improved by the iterative re-evaluation of the prior probabilities, which results in ...

Immediate Warning of Local Overheating in Electric Machines by the Detection of Pyrolysis Products
IEEE Transactions on Power Apparatus and Systems, 1973A device employing an ion chamber has been developed for the sensitive, reliable, and very rapid detection of local ovetheatingin a gas-cooled electric machine before extensive damage can result. The device detects the presence of pyrolysis products generated by the thermal decomposition of organic materials such as insulations and polymers.

Numerical Study of Arc Exposure about Water-Panel Overheating in an Electric Arc Furnace
2021Electric arc furnace (EAF) is a furnace that utilizes electric energy and chemical energy to melt scraps and produce liquid steel. During the industrial process of EAF, an electric arc will be generated around the electrode located at the center of the furnace, and this phenomenon will generate a lot of heat.
