Overseeding ofEragrostis curvulaon north‐eastern Sandy Highveld

Proceedings of the Annual Congresses of the Grassland Society of Southern Africa, 1973
A small plot trial to investigate the possibilities of directing changes in the botanical composition of fertilized veld by oversowing demonstrated the potential of this technique for the establishment of improved pastures in non-arable situations. The improved return on fertilization, obtained by this technique, can also radically alter the attitude ...

Contributions of Overseeded Clovers to Bermudagrass Pastures in Several Environments

Crop Science, 2012
ABSTRACTBermudagrass [Cynodon dactylon (L.) Pers.], a base forage in southeastern United States livestock production, often fails to meet nutrient requirements of some classes of livestock. Contributions of arrowleaf (Trifolium vesiculosum Savi), ball (Trifolium nigrescens Viv.), berseem (Trifolium alexandrinum L.), crimson (Trifolium incarnatum L ...

Oxadiazon Treatments on Overseeded Putting-Green Turf

Weed Science, 1982
Oxadiazon [2-tert-butyl-4(2,4-dichloro-5-isopropoxyphenyl)-Δ2-1,3,4-oxadiazolin-5-one] at 2.2 to 4.4 kg/ha controlled goosegrass [Eleusine indica(L.) Gaertn.] without injuring bermudagrass [Cynodon dactylon(L.) Pers.], but severely injured overseeded common ryegrass (Lolium multiflorumLam. common) and perennial ryegrass (Lolium perenneL. ‘Medalist VI′)

Forage Characteristics of Bahiagrass Pastures Overseeded with ‘Ubon’ Stylosanthes

Forage & Grazinglands, 2013
Overseeding warm‐season legumes into warm‐season perennial grass pastures is an option to improve forage quality and reduce the use of commercial N fertilizer. The objective of this study was to evaluate the effects of ‘Ubon’ stylo (Stylosanthes guianensis var. vulgaris × var. pauciflora) overseeded into bahiagrass (Paspalum notatum Flügge) pastures on

The Effect of Overseeding on Turfgrass Quality in Turf Areas: Evaluation of the Effects of Overseeding Methods on Turfgrass Quality

Ecological perspective

Overseeding Clovers into Permanent Pastures

2014
Benefits of establishing legumes into permanent pastures have been well studied. Successful establishment of legumes in pastures can be challenging, however, and more information is needed about different seeding methods and variables that affect legume establishment.

Bermudagrass autumn overseeding with annual ryegrass

2003
Annual ryegrass (Lolium multiflorum) is sometimes used for warm-season grasses overseeding for quick establishment and early transition in the spring. In a field trial carried out in Pisa (Italy), 7 cultivars of annual ryegrass were overseeded in October on a Cynodon dactylon × C. transvaalensis 'Santa Ana' turf maintained at two mowing heights (27 and

Overseeded Bermudagrass Fairway Performance and Post Dormancy Transition as Influenced by Winter Overseeding Practices and Trinexapac-ethyl

2014
Dormant bermudagrass (Cynodon dactylon) fairways become matted down and thinned out from winter traffic. This appears to be more of a problem on the coarser textured, winter hardy, improved varieties (e.g., 'Midiron' and 'Vamont') typically used in the colder regions of the upper transition zone.
