Developing Soft Interconnected Microchannel Network for 2D Skin‐Like Actuator

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A soft interconnected network of microchannels is proposed to develop new pneumatic actuators for future bio‐inspired soft robots. Simultaneous stimulation of this network generates regional asymmetric strains in walls of microchannels whose interaction across the entire surface leads to bending curvatures in multidimensions.

Little evidence of hysteresis in regional precipitation, when indexed by global temperature rise and fall in an overshoot climate simulation

open access: yesEnvironmental Research Letters
Society is aiming to stabilise climate at key temperature thresholds, such as global warming at or below 1.5 °C or 2.0 °C above preindustrial levels.

Engineering Large‐Grain Metal Halide Perovskite Films via Chemical Vapor Deposition for High‐Performance, Ultralow‐Noise Perovskite Photodetectors

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Chemical vapor deposition produces large‐grain, phase‐pure CsPbBr3 films (grains up to 35 µm) with Drude‐like terahertz photoconductivity and twofold higher carrier mobility versus spin‐coated references. These microstructural advances translate into photodetectors with a detectivity of 8.4 × 1012 Jones, dark current below 1 pA cm−2, X‐ray sensitivity ...

Temperature Overshoot Would Have Lasting Impacts on Hydrology and Water Resources

open access: yesWater Resources Research
Models of climate change impacts could be missing significant risks to hydrologic and water infrastructure systems through a shared feature: the idea that temperatures rise monotonically. By contrast, temperature overshoot pathways describe non‐monotonic

MetaboSense: An Integrated Quantum Dot‐Mediated Aptamer Assay and Modular Microfluidic Platform for Continuous In‐Line Monitoring of Lung Metabolism During Ex Vivo Perfusion

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
MetaboSense is a first‐of‐its‐kind microfluidic platform enabling continuous, in‐line monitoring of glucose and lactate during ex vivo lung perfusion. Combining a quantum dot–mediated aptamer assay with mixing, depletion, and optofluidic detection modules, it achieves 60–s temporal resolution and shows strong agreement with standard blood gas analyzers,

Equitable cooperation deepens the solution space for high ambition pathways

open access: yesEnvironmental Research Letters
Integrated assessment model scenarios informing global climate ambition typically treat fairness and cooperation as external to the modelling process, reinforcing a perceived tension between fair effort-sharing and the urgent collective action needed to ...

Synthesis‐Dependent Grain Boundary Density Governs Low‐Temperature Lithium Diffusion in Single‐Crystal NCM Cathodes

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The relationship between synthesis‐dependent crystallization behavior, internal grain‐boundary density, and intrinsic lithium diffusion kinetics in single‐crystal mid‐Ni NCM cathodes is elucidated, providing practical design insights for advanced cathode materials.
