Annals of Applied Biology, 1974 SUMMARYThe longevity of Sitobion avenae varied inversely with temperature from 25 to over 100 days when reared outdoors on barley under lantern jars, being longest between December and April–May. This was due mainly to changes in the length of the pre‐ and post‐reproductive periods rather than the length of the period of reproduction.
