Histogenesis of the Ovine Uterus

Journal of Animal Science, 1987
Reproductive tracts from fetal (d 55 to 150) and neonatal (d 9 to 3 mo) lambs were examined by light microscopy in order to describe ovine uterine histogenesis. Morphologically, d-55 and -60 fetal uteri were bipartite, though characteristic external cornual morphology was not apparent until d 100 to 110.

Ovine Fetal Necrobacillosis

Journal of Comparative Pathology, 2007
The association of Fusobacterium necrophorum with late term abortion in sheep is reported. The bacterium was not culturable, but was identified in five cases by fluorescence in-situ hybridization (FISH) with an oligonucleotide probe specifically targeting 16S rRNA in F. necrophorum. Gross lesions were found in several tissues. Histologically, placental

Ovine model of burn wounds grafted with ovine cadaver skin

Burns, 2022
Shortage in autograft to cover burn wounds involves a frequent use of cadaver skin (CS) as a temporary cover to prevent infection, dehydration and preparation of wounds for subsequent autografting. We aimed to establish an ovine model of burn wound healing using ovine CS (OCS).

Ovine interdigital dermatitis

Journal of Comparative Pathology, 1967

Toward Ovine iPSCs

Cellular Reprogramming, 2013
Abstract Interest in pluripotent livestock stem cells has been with us for over 2 decades, and although much has been claimed over the years, it is only recently that real progress has been achieved. The recent developments have revolved around the ability to reprogram somatic cells to become induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs).

Treatment of experimental ovine cryptosporidiosis with ovine or bovine hyperimmune colostrum

Veterinary Parasitology, 1994
Ovine or bovine colostrums with different antibody titers were tested for their ability to prevent cryptosporidiosis in five groups of neonatal lambs experimentally infected with 10(6) Cryptosporidium parvum oocysts 2 days after birth (Day 0). In a control group (Group 1), six lambs were deprived of ewe colostrum and exclusively fed with milk replacer.
