Behavioural lateralization in sheep (Ovis aries)

Behavioural Brain Research, 2007
This study investigates behavioural lateralization in sheep and lambs of different ages. A flock was tested in a task in which the animals were facing an obstacle and should avoid it on either the right or left side to rejoin flock-mates (adult sheep) or their mothers (lambs).

Pronephros in Sheep (Ovis aries)

International Journal of Livestock Research, 2018
The present research work carried out in 11 embryos and foetuses of local Nellore sheep from 20 days (0.7 cm CRL) to 31 days (2 cm CRL) of gestation. The tissue samples were fixed in 10% NBF and Bouin’s fluid and processed for routine histological studies.

CD11b of Ovis canadensis and Ovis aries: Molecular cloning and characterization

Veterinary Immunology and Immunopathology, 2007
Leukotoxin (Lkt) is the primary virulence factor secreted by Mannheimia haemolytica which causes pneumonia in ruminants. Previously, we have shown that CD18, the beta subunit of beta(2) integrins, mediates Lkt-induced cytolysis of ruminant leukocytes.

Characterization of sheep (Ovis aries) palatine tonsil innervation

Neuroscience, 2009
Palatine tonsils (PTs), together with ileal Peyer's patches, rank among the first colonization sites for infectious prions. After replicating in these lymphoid tissues, prions undertake the process of "neuroinvasion," which is likely mediated by the peripheral nerves connecting lymphoid tissues to the central nervous system (CNS).

Blood biochemistry values of sheep (Ovis aries ligeriensis)

Comparative Biochemistry and Physiology Part A: Physiology, 1989
1. Analysis of biochemical parameters were carried out on material pooled from 30 female sheep (Ovis aries ligeriensis). 2. The values determined were for the common metabolites and enzymes utilized for specific studies in general metabolism (urea, glucose, cholesterol, lipids, bilirubin, uric acid, creatinine, alkaline phosphatase, GOT, GPT, LDH, LAP,

Transcriptome sequencing of Ovis aries

2014
We have completed the high quality reference genome for domestic sheep (Oar v3.1) and performed a detailed survey of gene expression across different tissues. RNA-seq data of 7 tissue types from the reference female Texel and skin tissue from a Gansu alpine fine wool sheep were sequenced.Overall design: Here is the part of the RNA-seq data sequenced in

Ovis aries POU1F1 Gene: Cloning, Characterization and Polymorphism Analysis

Genetica, 2006
POU1F1 (PIT-1/GHF-1) is a transcription factor with critical role in the transcriptional regulation of multiple genes in the pituitary and also important for the survival, differentiation and proliferation of three pituitary cell types. To understand the regulation of POU1F1 gene in Ovis aries we report its cloning, sequencing and characterization. The
