The present study was conducted to investigate the efficacy of Ovsynch and Ovsynch plus protocol in postpartum (day 60) Sahiwal cows (n=18). Animals were randomly divided into three equal groups, viz., Ovsynch group Ovsynch plus group and Control group. Animals of group I (n = 6) were treated with traditional Ovsynch protocol.

Unlike GnRH, estradiol could induce emergence of a new follicular wave regardless of the size of follicle. Therefore, the present study was conducted to understand whether replacement of the first GnRH by estradiol in the breeding protocol of Double Ovsynch program could enhance fertility.

Ovsynch efficiency in anoestrous dairy goats
2017Oestrus induction and synchronization protocols in small ruminants are mainly based on the use of progestagens and eCG, comprising AI during and out of the sexual season. These methods result in acceptable kidding rate, but there is a worldwide intention of avoiding use of steroid hormones for oestrus synchronization due to micro residues in food chain.
