ACLY is vital for early embryo development. IGF‐1 activates AKT to phosphorylate ACLY, driving its nuclear localization and recruitment of HATs (P300/HAT1), boosting acetyl‐CoA production and histone acetylation for transcriptional activation. Conversely, ACLY deficiency (via knockdown, knockout, or AKT inhibition) reduces nuclear acetyl‐CoA, disrupts ...

Gonadotropin and kisspeptin gene expression, but not GnRH, are impaired in cFOS deficient mice. [PDF]
cFOS is a pleiotropic transcription factor, which binds to the AP1 site in the promoter of target genes. In the pituitary gonadotropes, cFOS mediates induction of FSHβ and GnRH receptor genes.

The Semaphorin 3E (Sema3E)‐Plexin‐D1 pathway mediated by C/EBPα and C/EBPβ downstream of the luteinizing hormone (LH) surge plays important roles in the mouse preovulatory ovary. Timely activation and suppression of this pathway during the preovulatory stage are crucial for ovulation, corpus luteum formation, and proper angiogenesis.

Reproductive management in pigs: emphasis on the different roles of the boar and on optimal insemination management [PDF]
Boars have different roles in the reproductive management in pigs. Boar contact can stimulate follicle development and thereby induce oestrus, both in gilts and sows.

Control and induction of ovulation in cattle.
The control and induction of ovulation in cattle are discussed with particular reference to use of progesterone-impregnated coils in heifers and beef cows. Progesterone treatment for 14 days was required to obtain precise onset of oestrus.

Engineered Tissue Models to Decode Host–Microbiota Interactions
Host–Microbiota interactions in the human body. Created in BioRender. Ghezzi, C. (2025) https://BioRender.com/ihivskg. Abstract A mutualistic co‐evolution exists between the host and its associated microbiota in the human body. Bacteria establish ecological niches in various tissues of the body, locally influencing their physiology and functions, but ...

Microarray-based analysis of fish egg quality after natural or controlled ovulation
Background The preservation of fish egg quality after ovulation-control protocols is a major issue for the development of specific biotechnological processes (e.g. nuclear transfer).

The "Ram Effect": A "Non-Classical" Mechanism for Inducing LH Surges in Sheep [PDF]
During spring sheep do not normally ovulate but exposure to a ram can induce ovulation. In some ewes an LH surge is induced immediately after exposure to a ram thus raising questions about the control of this precocious LH surge.
